From my understanding, the LT and MT kits are based on the lower and upper control arms in conjunction with an extended travel coilover. I don't see why you couldn't do an RCD with a mid travel or long travel set up but I can't say I'd recommend it. I'd probably go for one or the other. Maybe just RCD kit with some good UCA's and coilovers to add a little travel?? I'm sure some more knowledgeable people will step in.

Mid travel front replaces the front coilovers assembly with one that has a slightly longer fully extended length, then replace the upper control arm with one that has slightly different shape and uniball instead of ballpoint, so the spindle wheel assembly can droop at least one full inch lower than stock at full droop.

More downtravel enhances ride over drop offs, which are common both off road, and on less than perfect concrete interstate highways.

Downside to more droop is more likelihood of uncovering front differential needle bearing issues.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned OME yet. Unless I missed it. I"m running OME on my Tacoma and 2010 4Runner. Bothe suspension kits have given me a full 3" of lift and are moderately priced, $890 for the 4Runner and about $1000 for the Tacoma IIRC. I have the heavy springs on both of them and the Tacoma and 4Runner and it is definitely not the soft ride of the stock suspension.

I refuse to do business with Icon

Depends on how much wheeling you plan to be doing.

    Can someone knowledgeable step in?

Can I have for example a stage iv icon setup and have the rcd lift at the same time?
What would be some pros and cons?

Full OME with Rear Dakar springs. If you want to upgrade the rear shock go with some resi shocks. Then since you would rather go fast throw a supercharger on there (but at 40k a year that will suck for gas since you have to use 91/92) Run some 32 or 33" AT tires and call it good.

With that set up, you will have everyone on here drooling over your truck.

Front resi coil over springs, front Icon UCA's, Rear resi shocks and Icon AAL. I think that will run you about $2000

All pro is junk! They don't even know how to set-up proper steering geometry.

    Agreed on http://www.iconvehicledynamics.com/store/products/05%2dUp-Tacoma-Suspension-System-%2d-Stage-4.html

A higher quality mid-travel setup probably does not exist. It is pricier but 100% worth it.

I run the same thing now except the standard travel fronts with stock UCAs and it destroys the stock front suspension on any terrain.

Another thing to note about the Icon stuff is it is digressively valved. This is the opposite of progressive. That means the quicker the impulse the SOFTER they get. So basically going fast over rough roads or terrain is what they are designed for. They are not really a rock crawling shock.

Good luck though. While there are other options I probably don't hear as much praise for the quality of any product as I do for the Icon.

It isn't idiotic, it's the truth. I wheel with NwiTaco who owns the kit and has been back and forth with them over 10 times and they still can't figure their shit out. He ( a mechanical engineer) had to tell them how to fix it  He also broke a Cv shaft (by allpoos records first in history)

Their heavy duty steering set up is crap. stock steering with extenders are stronger...
