    I’d hope his dad didn’t quit driving it after 1 year of ownership.

    My dad just stopped driving his Ranger after 20 years of owning it.
    And that’s only due to a brake line rusted and it leaks.
    If I’d get over there and help him fix it, he’d be driving it now.

    If at all possible what was the solution to this truck's reason for not starting? I am experiencing the same bizarre problem and hoping to save myself the time and money with an answer from another truck's no starting remedy.

    Check the starter solenoid signal wire. Mine was not making good contact at the starter and gave me no crank issues.
