No Clue What Went Wrong

Was on a trip from Yosemite back to the North Bay CA and heard a rattle in the engine, a few seconds later the acceleration stopped and I felt a surge in the Taco. Check engine light started flashing and then the Trac Control light also went off. I got off on the next exit (luckily within seconds) and coasted to a stop. When I tried to gas it across the exit intersection I had no power and immediately killed the engine when I pulled over. Had my toddler and 2 dogs in the truck with me and decided to get towed back home…$850

Next day had my dad come over with the code reader and it threw spark plug misfire? I just changed them out not even 2 months ago…my dad said it might be a dirty fuel filter but I just want to hop on here and see if anyone has any clue what could have been the issue.

it drove ookaaay today but I deft felt a lag when I gave her some gas. I didn’t go over 45mph and only did a short test trip. Any advice would be helpful!!

I will check into this! Sounds like an extremely similar situation. I even heard the clunk and rattle under the hood before it went into limp mode. Big Thanks!
