So I attempted to replace my foglight switch with a after market one. I blowed my fuse for my dash lights. No biggie I just replaced it. Then I did it again this time my speedometer lights went out as well and now I can't get them back on. Any ideas.

The 7.5A Gauges and 10A Tail fuse both power the dash and interior lights.
    Check both.

FWIW, most aftermarket switches are setup for power side trigger to the relay.
The OE wiring is setup for Ground side.

You may have fried your rheostat, do any of the other backlights work?
Why were you replacing the fog light switch? They rarely go bad.

Yeah nothing was wrong with the old switch. I just wanted one that lite when the lights were on. Should have just left it alone.

My speedo lights and heater lights are both out. I was thinking it could be the dimmer switch.

I think if you unplug the dimmer, the lights go full bright. If memory serves me correct, @Jimmyh and I had a heck of a time a few years ago helping a member here figure out why the dash lights would not dim. Turns out the dimmer was fried and previous owner unhooked it.

The cause was an aftermarket radio wired incorrectly.

I think he means light up when the fogs are turned on which the OE switch does not.
Aftermarket switches are tricky to wire correctly due to the circuit design of the OE system.

DM93 you are correct. I installed a light bar that lights up blue and liked it so I got a switch for my fog lights as well. But boy has it been a headache. Plan on working on it today hopefully get it figured out. Thanks for the ideas. I think I may have fryed my dimmer switch guess I'll be replacing it.
