So I fixed my issue w/ the overhead compass/temperature, I solder the broken end, test it to verify it worked and it did, placed everything back to normal, now it does not display after 2 weeks. this is what it looks like. Im not sure if the digital display screen is fried or the resistor is bad. Here are the pictures for it .. the RED circle is where I soldered it and after a couple of weeks the BLACK circle is only thing that shows. If you guys think I need a new one. LET ME KNOW IF YOU GOT ONE!!! Please HELP ME!!! :

the screen is fine...it's supposed to look like that, all of them do.

i'd re-solder those resistors again. sometimes people have to do it more than once. doesn't take but 10 mins all together...give it a shot.

    Not enough.
or get new 510 resistors that dont lay flat on the board, I think radio shack carries them. They look like weenies on a skewer.

Make sure to use electrical solder, not plumbers solder. The plumbing stuff works for a short time then quits, the electric stuff has kept working for months now. I had to re do it three times b4 I figured it out.
