That looks like a sweet idea. any issue getting things tightened since the gaps are small?

Good to know. Looking at getting a Decked and thinking about a way to mount it without drilling.

This was super helpful, man. I appreciate you posting. I wasn't really interested in drilling holes in my new truck's bed to hold down the system that I can't imagine will move all that much, especially when full of junk.

I'll make a post when I get mine installed.

I want to follow up and say that I actually left my bed-mat in the back of the Tacoma after putting in the shims, underneath. The reason I thought this might work was because the instructions simply say that the tie-downs are to keep the DECKED from sliding around... which makes sense because the plastic bed is slick as shit without a bed-mat.

Anyways, I forewent the turnbuckles you suggested and figured, if it's just to keep it from sliding, I know for a fact it won't slide with that mat. I installed it last night, was a lot easier than people were saying online about the assembly. And honestly, you could pretty much do it without really reading the instructions like they say repeatedly. ANYWAY.

NO DRILLING, NO TURNBUCKLE, just leave your bed-mat in if you have one, and that sucker is NOT moving.

I bought a second hand Decked system and installed last night. Didn't come with any of the mounting hardware, so it's not bolted in (for $500 bucks I can't complain). I put it on top of my bed mat.

After testing it out, I think this works okay, but with loaded drawers at full extension, the decked system tips up in the front fairly easily. I'll be adding turnbuckles to the front and rear to snug it up and prevent this from happening.

UPDATE: Added turnbuckles in the rear, but my ‘16 I didn’t have tie downs up front and I didn’t feel like ripping the whole thing out just to add them. With just the rear tightened up, this thing doesn’t budge and doesn’t shift even with both drawers full of stuff pulled all the way out.

Do you happen to remember to sizes for the turnbuckles? I just bought an used system for $750 and I honestly don’t want to drill into the bed at all, especially the 3 bolts on the wheel well
