My issue with them isn't so much mechanical related, tho that "grip zone" on the Xd. Real cool... It's more of the company itself and some of the things they have done along with the CEO. It's also why I don't buy Benchmade. Solid product but cannot support the company. There are plenty of other companies out there that I'm happy to support.

Depends on the model. If you're talking about the XDs, which are imported, rebranded, and 100% marked up Croatian HS2000 pistols, then yes, in relation to other reputable firearm brands, there is a whole lot wrong with Springfields. Not only do we see them choke and break down more than any other brand on the range, they nearly always go hand in hand with poor gear decisions like low quality leather holsters, hybrid style holsters, SERPA holsters, and off-body car mounts.

More to the topic, I urge everyone to understand that your car is not a holster. If you must have a firearm and you can't have it on your person, I'd recommend fastening a secure lockable container in your truck somewhere out of sight. Otherwise, get a good quality holster from a reputable manufacturer and acclimate yourself to it.

I personally have a bad back so sitting for a period of time with my gun holstered hurts like hell. I have a rubber coated magnet held under the steering wheel w/ 3M. (I don't remember the brand...There are several) My fear was forgetting it in the truck but I put it in a specific spot where I can not exit the truck w/o hitting it with my leg. Great reminder. Ohh, for the "concerned" people that think it could become a flying object in the event of an accident, very unlikely. The magnet is quite powerful. It's not going anywhere. :)

Maybe someday I’ll find an iwb kydex holster that is comfortable in the summer. I have several for winter. I use leather for summer. Way more comfy.

Check out ANR Designs. Some of the comfiest holsters I've worn, and wear daily. Another option is a belly band holster. I use one when I go on a run or hiking.

https://www.anrdesignkydexholster.com/ - Some of the best holsters around.

https://www.unitytactical.com/product/clutch-belt/ - Belly band sort of, but better. Can be used with a kydex holster as well.

Or if you search Amazon for a Belly Band Holster you will be given a plethora of options.

Check out Alien Gear, they do have a mount but it works with their holsters, take your holster off, and it clips right into it. I believe you can use 3M tape to secure it but I'd recommend screws.

I really like the holster option sewn into the front of my wet okole seat covers for longer drives. I just leave my pistol in it’s holster and slide the whole thing into the pocket.

excuse the dirty ass interior. Been camping the last few weekends and I’m overdue for a wash and detail.

Could you post a pic of the non clip side of your ANR holster?

I have that setup. Not sure I'd mount stuff that would get hit by the seat thuogh. I have a bag on the front of mine that can hold spare mags and small stuff. On the back, I mount a flashlight that is plugged into the center console.Photo Oct 15, 13 26 13.jpg

I’m planning on buying the glove box organizer and using one of the slots for my Sig. I like the glove box idea because I can lock/unlock it when parked or if kids are in the car and not worry about someone finding it while I’m not in the truck. Can easily access it if needed and is otherwise outta sight for everyone else. Just an idea for ya if you’re not into drilling (same opinion).

Hellcat has been put to the test and passed, and performs amazingly.

Living in CA myself, I can only obtain one if gifted from a direct blood relative out of state.

    Which I have.

    Must aquire......

Ha, so much easier here in FL especially with a concealed carry permit. MSRP is $899 so it makes me think twice about pulling the trigger on this purchase. But then again I did get the Kimber Ultra Carry 2 without batting an eye - lol.
