Just greased, my 19 TRD Sport. Two zerk fittings only; one on each of the forward propeller shaft universal joints.

Before my Tacoma I had a F150 with all unserviceable u-joints. They all lasted over 150000 miles with no replacement.

My 19 Limited also has 2 grease fittings only, on the front driveshaft.

This is nuts no zerks on driveline now, what about towing, ujoints need to be purged after towing, couple times a yr, as well as what about extreme offroading, alkali dust needs to be purged from ujoints. Sad lot these mfgrs now days. Anything to save a buck. I may have to buy a 2015 lightly used Tacoma 4x4 my next rig, at least they still got all the zerts on driveline. duh. We tow a lot. Both a travel trailer and a 700 rhino on trailer.

Or, instead of purchasing an older truck, just install these joints with fittings on the 3rd gen.10C3D04F-1447-4FE3-8AE9-607E059ADE56.jpg

Oddly enough, my other truck has non-greasable ujoints, has towed, has been in mud. And at 148,000 miles, the joints are fine. Maybe you need to adjust your expectations to match advances in engineering and manufacturing. We used to grease ujoints all the time on trucks growing up, but things change.

So true. It could go 15, or 20 years with sealed joints.

But, for those people who own a grease gun and like to spend some time checking out the underside of their truck, greasing can’t hurt. And maybe it’ll make it to 300,000 miles on the same joints without problems.

I tend to replace them with greasable ones when they wear out. Still waiting for those to go (12 years...)
