These should be correct, you have pics of where you are testing? B5 is the Body ECU connector.

    So the switch is good.

I think he's referring to Connector IJ1 (which is behind the right kick panel) and Pin 1 listed above should be Pin 9

Chilton didn't have diagrams for 2007 or 2006. I had to pull 2005 diagram.
And I was assumed 2005-2007 would be the same....Evidently not.
2005 diagrams have it listed as IJ.......

My fault here, thanks for correcting it.
That's what I get for using a different year model.
And since I have an 07'......Looks like I'll have to find 07' diagrams at some point.

Yea 05 diagrams are kinda weird, they have things labeled oddly on alot of stuff.

Pretty sure I'm in the right place.
    17 is not there, 16 is black/green.

I will get to the other one later, thanks.

Ah I see what's going on, your looking at the connector backwards.
The view of the connector they have in the wiring diagram is looking into the connector, if your looking at the harness side it's inverted.

Wait! Now that I looked at my pic, I had the clip backwards, the pink/R/W are right there.
Will test later, but that pin with the B/G wire, which is actually pin 4, does look bad.

Well if you have a suspect terminal that would definitely be an area to investigate further, I'm not at my PC right now to see what that terminal is but the file I linked above has the color and designation for every connector on that box in addition to every other junction and harness joining connector for 05-08.

I was going to say no power no ground on either, but...
I accidentally hit the turn signal while checking 17/pink for POWER, and it has 5.67V or so when both L and R turn signals engage?
    Pin 16 has nothing.

17 (Pink) is Headlight control from the switch, It should be Grounded with the Headlight switch on.

Pin 16 (Red/White) is Flash to Pass control from the switch, it should be Grounded when the switch is pulled into the Flash to Pass position.

Did you see my file linked above? It has all the pin colors and designations.

No ground on pink w/switch on. Nothing at all on pink except the 5.67V of power, not ground, for L and R turn signals. Pretty sure it only showed the 5.67V power to 17/pink with headlight switch on, stalk moved left or right for turn.

Pin 16 shows nothing at all, no power no ground with stalk and switch in any/all positions.

Yes, I opened that link, but I can't tell which is the one we're looking for, there's no plain pink wire @ 17 shown. I see DA, DB, DC and DD, should there be more?

So it seems something is going on with the switch or wiring between the switch and Body ECU.

There's multiple sheets in that file, there's tabs at the bottom. The B5 connector is under the Driver's Side Junction box tab.

    Also, that green wire
Ok, yes thanks, the pink wire is-
Headlight Switch Signal from IJ1 Pin 9
and pin 16 is supposed to be empty.

So I've got to get at IJ1 pins 9 and 10, back later, thanks.

Not sure if I found IJ1, checked a clip with 9 wires down below the ECM, the pink one shows 12.2V *power* with headlight switch on and off.
It has 9 wires like IJ1 from that link, but the colors are different.
Can't quite tell where IJ1 is supposed to be from the earlier diagram, but if I found the right pink wire, it's showing power not ground.
Not sure which wire would be pin 10.

That what I suspected the whole time.
The pink wire (control) was an issue.

Dang man. OP, you didn’t need to thrown an ECU at it. But, what’s done is done. Just money never needed to spend.

I will see if I can find the location of IJ1 when I get home.

As for showing voltage. That may be correct. Some signal wires are “pull to ground”. Which means they have voltage on them until they are grounded. A ground is “nothing”. The ECU has to start with “something”. Some times it’s 5v reference other times it is 12v.

You either send power to something. Or pull power (voltage) “down” from something.

    If that makes sense…..

This is correct the headlight switch inputs are pull-down type, the Body ECU supplies a bias voltage on those circuits (can be anything from 5-12v) and the switch pulls it to ground to signal the Body ECU to turn that output on.

We can always do a bypass test with a test light connected to ground on any pull-down type input to see if the module switches the output as it should.

Not sure how to proceed with that procedure.

Just going to throw this out, I'm pretty confused by all this-
Is the large blue box here representing the headlight switch?
Because I *think* the pink wire and the yellow coming out the bottom go to pins 9 and 8 in the IJ1, 8 being the turn signal control or something, and since the turns are working only with headlights on....it just seems suspicious.
But these diagrams are a bit tough to read.
We're basically looking for a shorted or loose wire? Or a short inside a clip?

Is this pink wire here going to the ECU even the same one that goes to IJ1?

To test it, you’d clip your test light to a body ground, then touch the test light probe to the pink wire showing voltage.
This will pull it to ground and the headlights should come on.
