Just a note on bulb handling in general:
Like any new bulbs, it's important to not touch them with bare fingers as oil from the skin can affect longevity of the bulb. I always try to wear rubber gloves when handling bulbs. I usually wipe bulbs down with a micro fiber cloth prior to installing them incase someone else touched them along the way. Anal I know, but years ago when replacing a burnt out bulb, I noticed fingerprints actually scorched into the glass of the bulb. Ever since then I make sure they're free of skin oils prior to installation. Many bulb packages these days (especially head lamp) mention not handling the bulb with bare fingers.
