I installed a brand new pioneer p3200dvd double din indash in my 2007 tacoma access cab .

everything was working properly until i did this.

Note * I have installed multiple indashes in my friends and my own vehicles and have never had any issues.

I tried installing the factory stereo again and the cluster still doesnt light up my speedo or my rpm.

I reinstalled the double din pioneer now. the only lights that are working are the smaller notifications like the seatbelt and parking brake things like that.

all my fuses are good nothing is blown. deck works perfectly. just the lights on the cluster any ideas?

please either respond on here or shoot me a text 623 224 1785

Just a thought, but during the install did you accidentally move the dimmer switch to the off position?

Hmm. Fuse was my first thought. Did you cut or splice any wires?

When you took out your stereo Im assuming you took off the ac/heater controls. Did you make sure those are clipped in all the way...If not the circuit is not going to be complete. I know this cause I did dash light mod and installed a double din. With those controls not connected only a few dash lights will work.

This happens every once in a while. Almost certain you wired the factory dimming wire to the wrong wire on the head unit shorting it out. this causes this issue.

I just walked out hoping that it was something so simple and unclipped them and clipped them back together and it didnt change anything. worth a shot though.

I installed with the dim wire connected so when i turn my lights on the head unit auto dims. I noticed I didnt have dash lights so i called best buy install and asked for a pointer and they said to leave that wire unhooked and cap it along with the orange and white illumination wires and the single orange and black all unhooked and they were almost certain that would be the fix but that didnt do anything except make the deck not dim.

Talking from experience. You hooked up an orange/black to an orange/white. You fried the guage cluster. Disconnect these wires and cap em off. Take it to the dealer and say it just blew one morning. SAY NOTHING ABOUT STEREO INSTALL. If asked, it's been in for months. $750 dollar part, 1 hour labor. If under warranty they will replace it. I was 2000 miles out of warranty when I did it by since I did every one of my services at Toyota, I just had to pay the labor.

No need. Just cap the dimmer wires. It will still work. Just don't say anything unless asked. Just say it's been in for months. This way everything will work with that deck.

Okay! Sorry. Disconnect those wires and see if it's cured. Worked for another member. If not, go to the dealer and tell them you hooked up the eliminating wire when putting your stereo in and now the guage cluster lights don't work.
Since it was not a warranty issue, prepare to spend $750 on the cluster, and an hour labor.
    Sound better?
