Thank you very much! That will more than likely be the pre-sale price, then they will probably be $10 more going forward. We have not finalized prices yet, but Cali Raised is doing pre-sales at that number. They are excited to sell some stuff so they are jumping forward, I am a little more patient haha. But we work together well and so I will probably match them.

Yes all of the pods we sell for these are spot. The 18W pods are spot but use a standard reflector so have a some flood lighting characteristics. The 20W spots are the focused lenses. They reach out much further but have very little flood lighting. It all depends on your desired needs.

We are smaller, have smaller footprints... No BJ Baldwins to sponsor haha. Plus at least for me, I have more avenues than just LED mounts, we make other stuff and have other services we provide locally. So it's not the only part of our business. While many corporations are under the always growing model as priority number one, I am more interested in making the best parts I can and naturally growing with time. I could crank a whole bunch more products, but I like to focus on doing less products better. Little stuff like choosing the best hardware, continuing to improve our products, providing color instructions, stuff like that. Just my little rant and point of view haha.

Hello, I emailed CaliRaised and commented on their instagram photo and they still havent answered, so I figured that i should ask you (APEX) becuase you seem to answer a lot quicker. I want to order these brackets and amber pods, but my 2016 SR tacoma didnt come with fog lights from the dealership. Instead, my truck has like a plastic ribbed cap over where the fog lights would be....would these brackets still fit my tacoma?

An excellent read about the beam patterns and their hypothesis, however, i live in an area where there are little to no street lights and very narrow roads... i drive to work when it's dark and I drive home when it's dark, I have tried just low beams and the stock halogens in my '17 were junk so i upgraded to an LED headlight, while the distance wasnt improved by much, the "usable" light output was better and I could see a little better.

That being said, I experimented by turning my stock fog lights on with my LED headlights and they really do light the sides of the road up a lot better and I can see the lines a lot better (not to mention all of the little critters and debris on the side of the road)

That's how I decided to run my fog lights any time my low beams were on. But now I want some better output for my fogs which prompted my interest in this product. I dont want the tiny TRD Pro lights.... and I dont want to pay double the price just for the name brand "Rigid"

Good read. I am not in 100% agreement but he posts some very good things to consider. Ultimately for every light we purchase we need to consider our individual needs for that light. What one person wants or needs may not match my wants or needs. And location is important too. In CA my needs are much different than in NY.

We are testing a set on a non-equipped 2016! Should fit but we are verifying. You will also need a dual lead harness to connect your new pods and the factory harness is lacking the connections if not factory equipped.

Honestly if you want to run your fogs on the road at night all the time this mod isn't for you. I don't like to turn people away but you need to consider what you want to use them for.

SAE/street legal fogs are made that way for a reason. You get flood lighting without being too bright to hinder other drivers and the beam pattern is short because it's not another headlight. Are they the best for fog, not always as stated above in the article. But it is the only way to run an additional street legal light on your bumper. Brighter bulbs, replacement fog lenses, non SAE pods, etc are all not street legal and I would advise against using them every time you drive at night as you are blinding other people and causing a safety concern.

These are designed for something different. They are an aftermarket non street legal application. I don't drive with my fogs on at all on the road where normal conditions present themselves. But when I need more light, I have a good amount at the push of a button. If the weather is super bad, I want a lot more light, not a little flood lighting. And what speed are we normally going when driving, more around the 40-50 mph range or more. In those cases you want the light to be out in front of you, if you are looking 15 feet out at the curb while going that fast that is not a smart move. So these are designed to be further reaching, brighter and used for offroad or bad driving situations. In my opinion I want more quality light when I need it, not for normal situations. That can be addressed in the headlight if they aren't doing the job you need.

while I can absolutely appreciate your honesty, i think these are exactly what I am looking for. 99% of my drive is on these lonely back country type roads (when commuting to work) and this fog light upgrade will be exactly what I need when I drive on those roads. I guess I will have to be a little more conscious and just turn the fogs off when I get to the "populated" stint of my drive as I dont want to present a hazard to other drivers.

@MojaveMadman I know you mentioned you cary H10 pigtails to plug into the factory harness. Will this need to be ordered separately or will it all be packaged together?

Back roads very different. I was thinking around town.

Combos from me will include the pigtail and all. It's a complete package!

The big question I have before ordering is this: How easy is it to aim these? Once installed, do you need to make a million little adjustments to get them aimed right, or will they be correct once put in.

Well TW family, big changes happening effective immediately.

As of this week @CaliRaisedLed has purchased my line of products from me and I will no longer be doing retail sales. Many of the designs will stay the same. A couple will be changed a little bit for their new manufacturer to take over production. You will still be able to find great products and even better prices from @CaliRaisedLed so please go check them out!!!

So what does this mean for you guys? It means that now Cali Raised LED has a larger product line and they will be able to continue to take care of all your LED and mounting needs. We always worked closely together and now from a retail perspective you can do all of your shopping in one great place. They are an official TW vendor, please go check out their page!

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/forums/cali-raised-led.219/

What does this mean for Apex Fabworks? We are still here!!! As manufacturing continued to grow it was becoming more and more difficult to keep up with production while also working on new and fun products. With Cali Raised taking over all the retail sales from us we are able to focus on what we do best, prototype product design and custom fabrication. As I have mentioned in a few places on TW Apex is moving from Albuquerque, NM to Valencia, CA. We will be back up and running in April and will begin to work on a lot of new fun product offerings for various companies. We also will be focusing on some big and exciting custom truck builds and projects with some of our partners! THANK YOU to all of you who have supported us along the way. From those who purchased our products, helped with designs and feedback, answered questions for other members, shared wiring write ups and even pictures. You guys are what makes TW great!!! I am so blown away by what this community has done for me and my family. You guys are the best!!!

    THANK YOU!!!!

Anyone who ordered the Cali Raised pre sale, I will be drop shipping your mounts next week. I am in production on the first batch right now. I would say by Friday next week. We got slowed down a little bit but the train is moving now. I have the first 10 sets I just got going today and they rest will be cranked out over the rest of this week.

Getting production parts moving is always a challenge, so many little details that you have to work through. Making a good fixture takes time and the learning curve on manufacturing the parts. These may look simple on the surface, but there are 5 bent parts per mount and getting them all manufactured correctly the first time is slow. I know you guys are patient and I appreciate that!!!! Just trying to fill in some of the back story.

    @0uTkAsT, thanks. Good explanation.

Do you have any closer pictures of the lights in the mounts, installed in the bumper? Maybe a good, close up shot from straight on and a close up from the side. I'm interested in the cleanness of the cuts, the coating, and the size of the gap and amount the lights protrude.

    Thanks!
