Well, being a LEO I deal with folks who had their vehicle damaged in parking lots all the time, and I always feel bad there isn't much I can do for them. Yesterday I was the victim.

Someone destroyed my passenger side mirror. Didn't leave a note of course. Anyone have a hookup who can check pricing on a passenger side mirror assembly? I'll be installing it myself.

My deductible is $500, so the cost of the mirror is coming out of my pocket.

My local dealer quoted me at 292.61 for the assembly. I was wondering if anyone here can tell me if it's a good price or not? It is NOT the blind spot mirror.

    I appreciate the help.

At least it was just a mirror and not metal.

Not sure about the price on those mirrors but there is a lot of stuff in them, heat, blind spot monitoring and power so I'd say $292 is a lot better than $500!!!

No doubt. It could have been significantly worse.

That would seriously chap my ass! It's not like you can just pretend you didn't see that happen, and then to drive off? What a dick move.

For the TRD OR I don't think you have anything heated in there, just the motors for moving the mirror. Should be a relatively easy fix.

    Sorry about the truck man.

It's heated, power, turn signal. Thankfully it's not the blind spot mirror. Lord only knows how much that would add to the cost!

Call Toyota of Dallas, they can give you a part # to put into their online parts finder. They're going to have a good price.

Sorry to see your truck damage. Of course you know it was another truck and one with a much larger and stronger mirror.

Funny thing too when I went to Lowes yesterday I parked behind a FJ Cruiser... when I came out to get in my car there were 4 pickups all parked around us in the next spots... kinda looked cool cause there were a few Toyotas but it kinda makes me want to park way out away from the store where I wouldn't have to worry about something like this!

I ALWAYS park about as far away from the store as possible. Door dings and worse drive my OCD into overdrive. I don't mind walking a bit further to potentially avoid a ding or having my mirror ripped off. Once the ding is there, you have to look at it every day.

I'm still waiting for my truck to arrive, but I do this with any car I own. Currently a 2014 Honda Accord Sport. I've had it for almost 2 years and I only have 1 super minor ding just behind the passenger rear door. You really have to be looking for it to see it. Sliders are a good idea... Now you've got me thinking...

After pricing for a few days it looks like anywhere I go the assembly is gonna run me right around $300. Yeehaw.

Now I have to figure out how to carefully disassemble the door and replace the mirror. It's not a big deal, thankfully I've got lots of past experience. Simply annoying as fuck I have to do it. I'm damn well not gonna pay an extra $100 for someone else to tear the door apart though.
