No longer stuck in Riverside. Ratchet strap saves the day despite better judgement.

Yes it does i turned it on as soon as I saw myself not moving forward nor back. I was just to damn deep in the hole where my axel was already touching the floor. My rear suspension is stock but my front is at 3” ahh

If you're already stuck in soft sand/dirt, locking the rear will only dig you in even deeper

Rear locker ftmfw bro. Just get more clearance by adding bigger/wider tires. I got a locker and plenty of times people have though I was 4x4.
Live and learn, keep building your trail riding skills. I'm heading to Johnson valley soon, if you're interested. Plenty of dirt trails there but also fun desert status go fast don't stop soft wash whoop feast no locker needed only gas and no fear stuff.

I wasn't aware there was "ego" in TW. I thought that was only in the rice rocket crowd.

Are you joking? There is most definitely ego in TW. It's no different than any other sub group of the population. We aren't special, lol

I still have all my recovery gear from my last jeep Rock Crawler I had 20 years ago . It's in a gear bag in the garage waiting to be used again one day

    (4) 50' snatch straps

    Numerous recovery shackles

    Snatch block

As for learning to off road , the best way if in Calif is to become a member of CA4WDC ( Calif assoc 4wd clubs ) https://cal4wheel.com . becoming a member they have many safety clinics and both the North District and South districts ( Hollister and Ocotillo Wells) have very nice facilities to learn how to off road

Less of a rule, and more like a guideline.

But technically it's on the books, lol
