I want a 2016 Taco Access cab Off-Road package with a manual trans. I can't select it unless I switch to 4 door.

This is super aggravating. I don't want a 4 door full cab, and I want a manual trans. WTF here. Why don't they offer that?

Doesn't make a lot of scene. Part of the reason I'm frustrated was I gave up my favorite truck for family reasons which was a 08 Tacoma Access cab Off Road kit w/Manual trans, and I've been dying to replace it. I have been impatiently waiting for the 2016's to get here, and now I see I can't get what I want.

Why would they offer this in only double cab only? I just don't get it. Do you think there is any way I can get them to make a Access Cab a manual?

    change your zip code.

or maybe the AC won't come with it because no long bed gets the manual

I tried the zip code thing. I wonder why they did that with long beds?

Gotta go to :canada: to get one.

There is no way to get a 2016+ TRD OR with a 6' bed and a Manual Transmission in the US.

After seeing the initial impressions on what the MPG factors are and how anemic the power of the 3.5 motor is I'm quite happy with my 2'nd GEN purchase. You should find yourself a nicely priced 2015 with your configuration and take all the money you don't spend on the 2016 and go to the tittie bar.

You can get an access cab/standard length bed, V6, manual trans with the TRD Sport only. This is why I ordered the sport, otherwise I would have ordered the OR.

If you must have the e-locker and OR shocks, you could probably add those aftermarket.

    Embrace the Skoooop!

I see a bunch of info about bringing from US to Canada, but not much in the reverse. In fact the few pages I read about it on Google make it look like a pain the neck. Maybe even worse trying to get it into the US. Well long story short, I can put up with the Sport if I really want to and mod from there I suppose.

Im in the same boat as you. I'd rather have the OR but the sport is the only option. Before you go buy the sport at least go on toyotas website and complain that you can't find the config you want. They build a AC TRD-OR 6MT, they just don't sell it in the US for some reason. If toyota knows there is demand for it they can offer that config in the US for basically zero cost.

I have spoken to more than a few people who don't buy a Tacoma because they don't offer a manual in the DCLB option. Would be very easy for Toyota to do.

You and those people should also get on toyotas website, or call, and comment about wanting that config.

They're not going to build shit if nobody wants it. That may seem like spitting in the ocean or whatever, but very few people can be bothered to give any feedback. A lot of the feedback is going to be idiotic, it's the internet afterall and the comments are anonymous. Imagine the 3rd gen forums condensed into an incomprehensible angry email. Most people who bother emailing (or calling) toyota to complain/comment about the 3rd gen are going to be crazy people. That's not to say that you have to be crazy to email them. You just need to care enough to overcome laziness.

Take a couple minutes and fill out the email support form at http://www.toyota.com/support/contact.html. Let em know that you want a tacoma in that config with a manual. If you're feeling extra saucy you can say that you have a competitors product and you were looking for a MT which is why you looked at toyota, but toyota doesn't have the config you want and if you have to get an auto you'll stay with your current brand. That'll be filed under conquest features and it will get their attention. Automakers love conquests.
