I understand the difference. More revenue will lead to more profit if your model (and products, a lot more stuff, etc) is run/done properly. CVS has obviously done it right. The point I was trying to make is that they're going to pass it off to the costumer. Revenue or profit. They're going to get that 2 billion from somewhere.

They can sell whatever they want nobody has to buy it...I never bough a pack of smokes in my life, and the last 20 years didn't need to get any prescription filled either!

Plus I'm more a Walgreens guy if I would need anything

And they sell the ingredients to make crack. I know I know you need to ask for it and show State ID, like that has worked real well. I don't think you can even buy crack anymore. LOL!

They sell prescription drugs that get sold on the streets and kill people, so why do they sell drugs.

    MONEY!

They don't sell that many cigs in the first place and can put to better use the space to make more money than they make on the cigs.

    Who the hell they kidding?

I believe you may still be confused.

There is nothing to "pass off" to the consumer.

Less revenue is just that. It doesn't mean the business will replace the revenue by raising pricing on other goods. It means they will replace the revenue with something else on the shelves.

And keep in mind, there are expenses involved in producing revenue. Without the revenue those expenses go away. The company may even replace the tobacco products with new product or expand on existing product that has a higher profit to revenue balance.

you forget that it is perfectly ok and politically correct to sell, advertise and endorse alcohol consumption but you better not light up.

The beer doesn't kill you, the person drinking and driving does.
