Just read a post (could be shit) that stated dealers are instructed to refund deposits on TRD Pro Tacomas w/ manual transmissions. "Manual in the TRD Pro has been discontinued and will not be back in 2024"

Again, it may have been a shit post but has anyone heard this?

Facebook group Taco Nation. Again, not reliable but the story sounded convincing.

Nothing is official until announced by Toyota.

But it is possible that the MT is discontinued with the 4th gen Taco. Not sure it it’s likely, but possible.

Haha, I was talking about this thread taking a dive but yeah, 4th gen MT looks iffy. 4cyl turbo and a manual?… maybe

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the MT got cut. Manufacturers produce what makes profit. And with the push towards fuel economy and EVs, that development money might be better spent elsewhere.

If the current speculation of the 3.5 carrying on for the first couple years of the 4th Gen, then the MT might also.

Everything is pointing to a 2.4 turbo with a 2.4 turbo hybrid option. Where did you get the idea the 3.5 would carry on into an entirely new vehicle?

Spend a few minutes looking through the 2024 Threads, it sounds like the 3.5 is an optional powertrain as a carryover for the first couple years.

God damn, talk about crabby. LOL

Your should expend that crabbiness on goofy fuckers taking their front drive shaft out or trying to make fake V8 sounds. LOL

Toyota has stated that the manual transmission is not about profit. It is about the driver's. They still produce manual transmission vehicles for that reason... ( Supra, Corolla GR, Tacoma ) the manual Tacoma is 5% of the market... ( Toyota's numbers ) they aren't making money on that tiny percentage with the engineering going into it. If they were they would have used the 2nd gen transmission.

I for one think they will continue with the manual transmission as the limited production option for as long as they can.
