If I had a dollar for every time a ‘for profit’ business claimed they weren’t solely looking for profit, then renegaded on that claim, I would be out cruising in my classic Porsche or something, not posting on here getting ready for work tomorrow.

Not saying you are wrong, you could very well be right… but, I would not be surprised whatsoever if the MT gets cut.

I think next gen Tacoma you will be able to choose any transmission you want as long as it is an automatic.

Man, I would love that hybrid powertrain with a manual. I can dream.
I wonder if they can squeeze a plug-in hybrid version with 20 mile range. Opposite gas tank. Will be good for weight distribution.

I custom ordered my 2025 Tacoma already.
Toyota has an individual program and you can choose the finest plastic and vinyl dashboard trim along with 100% Real Plastic Chrome.

There's definitely an element of truth to this for 2024, but NOT for 2023. Last time I checked it is still 2022 and we are barely 2 months into the 2023 model year. Unless Toyota has voted to ultimately end TRD Pro production early, I see no element of truth to this particularly rumor. Production ends for this generation in November 2023. But, if Toyota has magically stopped producing manual 2023 TRD Pros, well that is likely factual as can be and not false at all.

The 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro will be 100% automatic only and will be only offered as the Hybrid Max. That is why. Not the case for other TRD models, which will have an optional 2.5L hybrid already in the Highlander Hybrid, but with more power of course. Base will be 3.5L V6 on TRD trucks, but IDK for other trim levels.

The 3.5L V6 stays for 2024 and 2025 at least, but it won't be the same truck of course. I'd like this, but we'll see how the RC62F manual mates to the GA-F architecture.

Sorry if I’m misunderstanding…They’re keeping the 3.5 in the 4th gen alongside the new engines or they’ll still be selling the 3rd gen alongside the 4th gen with the 3.5?

That is mostly my fault, as I helped push that theory for some time. That right there was speculation on my part, but I've since been corrected on that front. The real shocker is, the lack of a BEV in development. While some others say it is coming, so I don't know who to trust. They are consistent on the 3.5L V6 and Hybrid Max. The most concrete fellas say that the 2TR 2.7L I4 is still the base engine, through 2025. One of them said this in another thread, it vanished like a cease and desist... Color me disappointed, but Toyota tries to get away with this where they can. The Tundra almost had a V8, almost...

4 engines, plus Prime version being studied and BEV not confirmed for production yet.

Outgoing 625B (aka 989A or N300) is ending production next November, no ifs and no buts, at least until a new delay creeps up at Toyota.

I have since updated my last post, for greater clarity before I log off. 2TR-FE, 2GR or 8GR-FKS, A25A-FXS, and T24A-FTS. Nothing nearly all-new, but new to the Tacoma!

So 2.7, 3.5, 2.5 hybrid, 2.4l Turbo? I don’t know why people aren’t making bigger deal about the 2.7 and 3.5…especially coming from you lol that means there’s a chance for the manual transmission to make a come back, just not in the new engines?

A manual would be a much better fit in a turbo engine than the current 3.5. I've had got about 30,000 miles under my belt driving a Ford Explorer with their 2.3 turbo and I've driven my brothers Ranger with the same engine. If Toyota can get the same power and torque with similar fuel mileage it will be a winner.

The 3.5 will not be in the next gen truck. Period.

The Tacoma engine would be expected to go 200k miles with minimal maintenance, the ferd engine will never get that far.

I think he’s full of shit. Recent leaks have said it’s a 2.4L turbo with a 2.4L Turbo hybrid option. Similar to the tundra which only comes with the V6T or V6T hybrid.

He thinks Toyota will offer 4 engine choices? When have they offered more than two engines on a Tacoma?

I'd say you're full of it, since you probably do not know anything from your perspective and are just another skeptic ignoramus who thinks they're special, against those of us who actually do the hard work on the reporting front, instead of relying on clickbait artists. I encounter many of your kind often and I am unmoved, as 9 out of 10 times I am right. Continue trusting the wrong information, considering dimwitted TFL & their peers are the same bunch who called this truck a 2023 model for almost 1 year, simply because they saw some spy shots in October 2021 and do not understand automotive product planning works in stages.

They often have to correct course way more than I do, because they never exercise due diligence and often report misinformation. Too many of you have to be spoon fed info from a YouTube feed, than going out there yourselves and doing your own research, to even have the gall to lazily attack me for passing on what I do know to be true. Get out of here with that nonsense, as none of us have to waste our time sharing such information with you for that matter. A good deal of you can be rather hardheaded knuckle-draggers and ruin it for the majority, who actually pay good attention to any developments. I sure as hell can mind my business and not update anyone on anything.
