Agreed cause it would probably add about 5 grand to the price tag.

I think I'd buy one of those TRD Amateurs, when do they go on sale? Pretty much all the mods we do around here anyways.

I bet they just re-brand it to something else. They make a lot of money off those high-end models, no way they won't have something for a buyer that wants to give them an extra 15 grand over base price...

Look at the new Fords. All those pickups have high end versions that are like almost double what the base model costs. Bet they will do that with the new 'Raptor' Ranger too.

There will be a TRD Bro MR.( Mall Rated)
TRD Pro Bro (Great for showing off at the gym)
TRD Pro Moab Edition. ( Actually useful for real Off Road enthusiasts)
And finally, the TRD Broette. ( Cavalry blue with pink wheels, eyelashes on the headlights, and the interior is black with pink trim, as in it replaces the orange pieces with pink.)

Well they already stopped making the Tundra TRD Pro for 2018...but based on the Feb. 8 pending announcement that hiatus seems short lived...plus if you check out the TRD Pro section on Toyota's website the picture of the Tundra TRD Pro is just an online with "coming soon" written over it.

When are people going to move on from bringing up diesel (in 2018 no less)? :annoyed:

Were likely to see a hybrid option eventually, but a diesel ain't likely ever happening.

I don't think it's going to be a diesel, hence the haha part. But they did announce one for the Wrangler in 2019 no less.

    That's exactly what I think it's going to be, just a re-brand and/or a shuffle of features.

Let's look at what has either already happened or announced to happen in the next 12 months with regard to diesels in the USA.

    Ram 1500 diesel option
    Ford f150 diesel option
    GM 1500 diesel option
    GM mid-size diesel option
Wrangler diesel option (this includes the p/u)

And these are the things that haven't happened yet, but are expected too within 3 years...

    Nissan Frontier diesel option (https://www.nissanusa.com/future-and-concept-vehicles/frontier-diesel-runner)
Ford Ranger diesel option (2nd year maybe 3rd, they already have two trucks using small displacement diesels in the F150 and Transit now).

Yep, absolutely no chance Toyota will sell a diesel mid-size truck ever in the US...people are clearly crazy who even hope for it. They should be committed.

The Tacoma Pro took a year hiatus just like they r doing with the Tundra. No biggie. Distance makes the heart grow fonder. I don’t know about a 10-15,000 dollar difference fonder, but people will shell out the dough if they want them bad enough. I am interested to c what Toyota actually announces at this show. Better b worth the teaser. Slapping a lift, badges, etc. is just putting lipstick on a goats ass.

Let’s c if Toyota actually has the smarts to make the Pro worth the extra dinero. My guess is small improvements.
