I'm not buying it personally, he's probably a very nice guy (I mean that sincerely). But the reality is nobody at any dealer level has any insight on what is coming down the pipeline, until it is nearly being delivered. I spend a lot of time on various car& truck enthusiast forums, where there are thousands of enthusiast & people who work at dealerships in high positions. I've also worked for several dealers in the past, everything from Honda, Dodge, Mercedes Benz to Nissan. Truth be told, most people working at a car dealership, don't actually know anything about the cars they are suppose to be selling. I know that is a broad statement on my part, but it has been my experience time & time again, at nearly every dealership I've ever worked in or stepped foot into (I've bought 17 vehicles in the last decade *more than 1/2 new) so I feel somewhat qualified to say this.

They don't know anymore than we do, and most of the time don't find out until it's been posted on an internet site. I was working at a Dodge dealer back when the Challenger was being released, as an example even the owner of the store didn't know when we were getting them, until the first one showed up on the truck.

For what it's worth, this is the best speculation I have read yet.

First off I am very sorry for the way that answer was reading and everyone that took it as crap, should. Reading now is nothing to what I was trying to say.
    1. I retired the first of March, 2014 and info dried up then.
    2. The info I passed on was from the 2014 National Dealer Meeting in Atlanta that I attended.
    3. Also from order info from Toyota to dealerships.
    4. From dealer reps and distributor office people.
    5. From the GST Winter Dealer Meeting I attended w/Mother Toyota types there telling updates from the National Show in Atlanta.
Ok, that is where the info came from.
I would like to add I we (dealers, GM's, all staff at store) get very little stuff before you. I was just passing on what there was presented.
I am sorry I did such a bad job of laying it out and you have a right to be pissed.
