it will probably be some kind of xover type. Look what Ford did to the Explorer. They already had the Edge. I really do not see much diff. I think IRS is coming to all but 3/4 ton and up.

sorry, but the reason we have weak springs is people like you that want a smooth street ride. Buy a car or xover.

One can never have too many light bars.
From what the dealer said the 2015 will have the current 4runner motor with 2nd gen vvt-i and might borrow some of its boxy looks as well. They also said that some models will be available with a full time all wheel drive with a separate low gear setting like a lot of the gm vehicles have now but I would never trust a car salesman.

    Bingo.

They don't know. The dealers have NO information on the 2015 yet.
A year ago, the 2014 was going to get the Diesel and the Tacoma was being replaced by the HiLux.

Yup, they don't have a clue! Amazing how little a lot of them know about their product or what the F is going on around them...

They did that to the first gen and it was only 01 to 04. My biggest thing I'd like to see improved is the engine, power is fine but there are plenty of things Toyota can do to improve mpg's. it'd be nice to have a sunroof also.

Well, at some point they'll have to make changes to engine and drive train and whatever else they need to change to up mpg. Govt says they have to. I forget how long they have. I thought it was 2016 but not sure.

I bet 99% of them are talking out of their ass. If they let random sales men know at all the shady dealerships the info would leak instantly. I'm sure the details are kept under wraps until just before they are released to the public.

My GF was looking at a Murano and the Sales guy was trying to get us to look at one of these. He says "Have you seen the Juke, It's a great little car" I said "what the Joke" He says "no the Juke". I replied "Thats what I said the Joke" and looked at him dead pan..... He didn't mention it again lol.

And yet despite all of our jokes about the Juke, it's launched a segment of cars that currently consists of the Juke in the low tier, the countryman in the second tier, and the evoque in the top tier.

Honda is entering the segment next year, and though toyota says they are passing, lexus is going to give the subcompact cuv a go. Ford has one ready for India next year as well. Nissan had to be doing something right for everyone to decide to join the party.

The idea is not a bad one. Actually we were looking for something in that range actually with AWD. We looked at the Subaru Crosstrek. Even the Ford Fusion (meant Focus) would be cool if it had a little more clearance and had AWD. That "Joke" is just UGLY though.

Whoops sorry my bad it was a Hatchback Focus we were looking at not a fusion. *F'n F cars* but it did not according to the dealer. Focus no can do on the AWD it does have the EcoBoost however. Wanted to test drive the ST. It was like 350HP with a Turbo. Damn thing was 35k...

They are going to stay the same until at least 2015 so they can sell a 10th anniversary edition... with a new grill of course.

LOL I just wanted to drive it. 350HP in that lil rocket!! Sweet seats as well. Don't know why they dont do a sport version (higher clearance w/ AWD). Seems it would lend itself very well to it. We liked the car though. The Crosstek was sweet but its underpowered like a mofo. 200HP is all you get with it but it drove really nice.

Yeah its cool but Turbo lag is really bad. I drove one over to a car show for my buddies dealer and even with their nice interior I'd never drive another lol. And I like Fords

Why would they improve anything except cosmetics and looks (the cheapest change possible) when the car sells like hotcakes? Also, the things we want changed might make the car more appealing than a Tundra. I bet that Tundra is their biggest seller and they don't want to endanger that.

Tundra numbers are abysmal compared to the Tacoma...30k less ytd. Also consider, you can get a Tundra with manufacturers rebates and rebates on the Taco are much less frequent. A high end tacoma and upgraded engines with improved MPG are Toyota's best bed to increase the profit margin on the Tacoma. There's a reason Ford loves their platinum line...it's all about the cash!

Part of me wonders if one of the contributing factors to the inability to convert taco drivers into Tundra ones is how dedicated people on this site and others are. It works for corollas to camry and camry to lexus, but tacoma drivers are fiercely loyal to the model as much the make, and only a few are making the jump to full size.
