Yeah. Just saying I thought a 33,000 dollar truck might have one. Just saying

I think that the newer trucks they want you to use the weather app on the entune radio.

Yep, it is under the apps on the etune system if you have it, and you can add it to your home screen for quicker access.

That said it is a poor solution that never locates me in the correct city, and if you are without an HD radio signal (like camping) it doesn't work at all.

Did away with it in 14 in the mirror. Glad I bought a 13

I think it is a safety oversight, honestly. I drive mountain passes quite often where it is freezing at the top and raining at the bottom. It is pretty nice to have a rough idea of when the pavement is gonna get icy.

If I ever get my 2015 one of the first things I plan on doing is adding a rear view mirror with outside temp and compass.

Yeah I was pretty unimpressed by Toyota's lack of a temp sensor in even their 2015 Tacoma. My 2005 Camry had one in the dash. Ten years later their pickup doesn't have one?

Pretty pathetic in my opinion. Not to mention we don't have auto door locks either. Such simple stuff they stripped down.

As for the "weather app" with Entune... it only works in a very few special cities who are blessed with XMSirius "HD" signals.

It is nice to have, but I wouldn't declare it a deal breaker or a safety oversight. If you are depending on a temperature indication for your safety, you are doing it wrong IMO.

I think it could be more of a safety issue if you depend on the temperature display for possible icing roads.

Safety? I missed that comment I guess. To me it's a matter of value. I had one in a 10 year old car and then pay $30k for a new one and don't get it. To me it's just a step backward. And it's a very simple and likely inexpensive feature for Toyota.

I've had my truck 6 months now and I STILL keep looking for the temp sensor when I hop in. My brain still hasn't accepted the fact that the truck just doesn't have one. It's more a curiosity thing to me - "It's warm today. I wonder what the actual temperature is right now." My cell phone has a temp app right on it. Turn on the screen and I have the temp. But I don't want to do that while driving. And the Weather App in Entune is literally an absolute joke. If you don't live in very specific cities you can't use it at all. Because somehow satellite signals can only land in highly populated areas or something. LOL

It's nice to give you a rough idea of when to look out for ice. That being said, if there is a possibility of ice you should be slowing down regardless. How often do ya'll get a hard freeze in SC anyway? I relied on the thermo in my old truck quite a bit for that purpose.

This is a good point. LOL Below zero I don't much worry about ice. Between 20-30F is where things get slippery up here. Crap melts partially and then freezes again over night. Sheets of ice everywhere.

I agree. My (entune ) as they call it . Doesn't work in 100 mile radius of where I live. When I bought my truck year and a half ago, toyota said they were working on getting satellite working

Yeah. I understand in 14 they moved camera to dash and lost temp display in the process ;(
