    Looks like you know what’s happening now, it’s ecu related I bet. I would get one from Vatozone and see if it works and if it does, return it and look for a non refurbished one, the ones at autozone I wouldn’t trust for long.

    glad that they found a PCM. Making a call on a PCM or other piece of electronics is tough, all you can do is check for shorts, opens powers and grounds and like the last line in every factory repair manual on diagnosis says, "Replace with known good unit."

    If it is the ECU it would be nice to get the old ECU back and check why it failed. If it was just a bad capacitor it could be an easy fix, and help others in the future.

    Electrolytic capacitors dry out over 10-20 years and can cause electronics to fail. A lot of computer monitors fail this way (in less than 10 years) especially in the power supply part of the circuitry.
