I have a 1997 tacoma and yesterday coming home from work when i shifted into 3rd i didnt even have enough power to get through the gear. After i got it home i replaced the fuel filter but the problem still exist. There is just barely any power in 3rd gear and up. It idles and starts fine. It has no cat so that cant be clogged. Any advice?

Vacuum line leaks, dirty maf, clogged something?
It would help if you told us how many miles and what engine /tranny.
Maybe you came from owning a faster vehicle.

If it was raining when this was going on I would certainly look into the plug wires possibility. But normally those deteriorate pretty slowly so it wouldn't suddenly be noticed as zero power. Unless they are arcing, which seems to happen a lot more in the wet. 20 years ago I was having trouble with power in the rain on my 82 pickup. Opened the hood at night in the rain and it was like a fireworks show. But it could be lots of things. Massive vacuum leak, weak fuel pump, ignition issues, ecu, tps, afm, could be anything. If the check engine light is on reading the codes could point you in the right direction. Of course with no cat it's probably on all the time anyhow so you're used to seeing it.

Its a 4cyl with 155,000. I replaced plugs and wires about 6000 miles ago. I had sprayed the truck down to get the salt off from the snow but i didnt spray the engine compartment
