Yeah, Toyota has made a point of making vehicles for Canada with different options so they do OK up here. The larger battery is standard on all V6's up here, not just on tow packages. Also heated seats are standard on all TRD trims, not just the Leather ones. I'd be shocked if this truck doesn't come with heated mirrors in Canada on the TRD edtion considering there is a little button for it on the Limited on the US edition, as a Canada only added option similar to what Toyota did up here with heated seats.

Also, all dealerships up here install a block heater the moment the truck sets foot on there lot. If you don't want it you have to tell them when it's ordered.

Everyone in here that's hurling insults needs to take some internet Preperation H. There is no need for this level of butt hurt.

    Never said that.
just that they must not see a need or enough demand to do it.

Toyota sees a need. I'm thinking this makes it on the Canadian TRD's but not American TRD's. Toyota has done such things in the past to appease Canadian buyers.

There's a demand up here for anything that makes winter driving safer.

REALLY don't understand no power drivers seat. OK I get that there is not a lot of room to go up/down in the cab, but changing the angle of the seat, power lumber etc. is what I use in my Highlander and RAV4 to resist driver fatigue.

So my wife as to reach under the bar and try to adjust the seat; driveway is on a bit of a hill....you can guess the rest.

Makes no sense and T would probably sell more high end +2000$ models just to get a $300.00 seat motor....what are they thinking.....

Let the aftermarket world chime in???

I don't know.... I don't change my seat around. It stays in the same place.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Who cares? I honestly don't see how hard it is to reach down, pull a lever and adjust the seat to your liking myself... Heaven forbid we Americans have to do anything physically enacting while we are in our vehicles.

Bestop, Child Seats, petrified french fry, dog hair, empty Mtn Dew cans cracked windshield, scratches.

For me the benefit of Power seats isn't the lack of work involved, but the more options of change.

    Down Up
    Fwd Back
    Butt Tilt
    Back Tilt
    lumbar

when I first got my truck I couldn't stand how high in the windshield I was. I came from an old Dodge Ram and saw lower in relationship to the front glass which made me see less hood and more road/area. When I first got some drive time in the Taco I felt like all I could see was hood and headliner and looked into a custom braket that would lower it a few inches. I slowly got used to it....plus I'm slouching more and more with age like Mr. Burns.

    First off...I'm not a man. :p BAhahaaaaaa.... ;)

    1) I'm old and want to pamper myself.
    2) I've had enough vehicles in my life that didn't have power seats - it's about damn time I can get a truck with power everything!
    3) I've busted my ass all my life to build a financial empire - I CAN AFFORD IT
    4) I'm not fat and rather active
    5) My husband has had power everything for years. I feel cheated....:D
    6) Did I mention...it's about damn time I get what I want in a truck??
    7) And again..I can afford it!!!

If there are people out there willing to pay for these luxuries - then Toyota (or anyone for that matter) should take advantage by offering it. If Toyota lags behind in offering these things....then, people might take their business to trucks that have it.

While I agree with you 100%, prepare to get flamed by the good old boys who see their Tacoma being one step above a donkey and a cart.:bananadead:

No power seat is no deal breaker for me, but I would like a pair of those gray seats in the OP to put in my '03.

Oh hell, I don't care. It's certainly not going to change my mind.

I'm not complaining. I'm pretty certain that the Limited Tacoma will have power seats. How everything else is optioned out -who knows. There will probably be a gazillion different optional packages to choose from.

The financial empire and all that affording means you can make it happen so make it happen. Just because it isn't offrered doesn't mean you can't have it.

Well..certainly. I've been adding modifications to my trucks & Jeeps since 1999.

The difference would be, an OEM item installed by factory (or a Toyota technician) that'll have 3/36 warranty on a new truck purchase -VERSUS- a non-OEM aftermarket item installed by myself or someone else (non Toyota). No 3/36 warranty on most aftermarket items. If you're anything like me....you spend hours upon hours researching aftermarket products to make sure the item you want fits your application, does exactly what you want it to do, and is the best product for your money.
