Requires more effort to adjust an 8-way seat than a manual front-to-back seat. More manual dexterity also. Myself, I don't consider it a point of pride that I can reach below the front of the seat and pull a lever up.

If you are the only driver, who the heck needs power seats? Its just another component that can fail and cost an arm and a leg to replace. And how many drivers actually share their trucks with other drivers on a daily basis? Or once a week?

I dont know. I think this is a smart move.

However, if you are going to sell it with no frills, you better price it with no frills. $35k for a truck thats bare bones is stupid.

Don't care about power seats, more options in adjusting them would be great, I have an mt and my knee hits the parking break when I wear my work boots. Just sayin

Actually, I am expecting the 2016 limited to surpass the 40k range in price and to not have power seats is a little bit ridiculous. Although I will say I set the seat once and I am done, but would be nice to slightly adjust on long trips. You can finally get a moonroof so that is a step in the right direction. I will still buy one after they work the kinks out.

The "lazy ass" comments are really uncalled for. Did you ever think that some people are taller than others and maybe a $40k new truck might ought to have a seat that will adjust in more ways than 2? This is a total flop on Toyotas part and a real deal breaker as far as I am concerned and the rest of you vulgar Neanderthals can shove your Mickey Mouse trucks!

To me its not a deal killer but I still think that there should be at least a height adjustment.

Calls for people to stop insulting people and then insults them. Sounds logical.

I like power seats but in the end, I am the only one driving it and once it is set, then that is that. HOWEVER, I rent cars virtually every week. What I can tell you is that manually adjusted seats simply do NOT have the ability to fine tune (dial in) the optimal seat position for me. Not like a vehicle with power seats. I like the seat up high and tilted backwards. On the manual level style seats, when you pump the lever to raise the seat, the back end comes up and it actually tilts you forward....opposite of what I prefer.

I can see myself pulling the seat out and shimming it up the way I want.

    Power seats.

This is a dual edge sword. My stance on it is that Toyota doesn't offer them due to the offroad nature of the vehicle and if someone was to ford over some water that went into the cab, their seat would be fried and they would be unable to move it any longer due to the motor shorting out from the water. The flip side to this is that people like their creature comforts.

If they offered power seats as an option I'm sure that would better appease to the masses that like their comforts.

Personally me myself I don't give a shit about power sests and am actually glad I don'thave them because of the whole water deal. One less part to short out IF I ever decide to use my truck as a submarine.

I prefer manual over power, power takes too long to adjust anyway, manual takes but a split second

Height adjustment is a big pet peeve, the Tacoma should have it standard now.

Damn straight. Same goes for the engine! How hard is it to hook up a horse to a carriage and use that instead of having to maintain an internal combustion engine. Come to think of it, to hell with the carriage, I'm going back to the just the horse.

Agreed. For example my wife and I have a significant height difference between us. She moves the seat so close to the steering wheel that I cannot get in the vehicle without having to move the seat back. I wanted my next truck to have memory as an option. Another thing I have to seriously consider if I buy another Tacoma.

At least make it an option Toyota

    How about...

WE are just looking for a "manual seat height adjustment" feature like on a base $15,000.00 Toyota Yaris...

Not having this basic feature on any vehicle in the $35,000 - $40,000 range is an insult to its customers!!!

Toyoda cannot answer or defend this inexcusable purposeful oversight, other than its collective middle

finger to their loyal fan base...

But you will get a $650.00 hard tri-fold bed cover for (33%) of you loyal customers (thus, making useless

1/3 of your open bed... whether you want it or not, but a manual seat height adjustment is out of the

    question.

Mr. Sweers' Toyoda truck engineers cannot crack the code on that one... Please borrow an engineer from

TEAM YARIS to show you how it is done... (All, that's right the Yaris is in a competitive market segment,

    now I get it...)

    P.S. Mr. Sweers,

The KIA Soul priced at $15,190.00 has six way adjustable seats standard...

Thank for your sincere consideration regarding this subject...

We have been wait for 10 years for an answer...

If Tundra owner's are worthy of height adjustable seats why aren't Tacoma owner's worthy of the same

consideration??? Are the HARD EARNED dollars$$$ paid for the Tacoma product not as valuable as the

Tundra / Yaris customer's dollars??? All that's right the Tundra is in a competitive market segment too...

Could Toyoda management just get a collective photo of them giving the Tacoma customers the middle

finger saying you've got nowhere else to go... hahaha!!!!

I agree with you 100% , power seats are pretty much standard on any vehicle, or they are an option, but not on a $40,000 + (CDN) vehicle.

There is really no reason why it cannot at least be an option so that those of us who are not hard core four wheeling can order power seats.

I had a Tonneau Cover on my last truck and I found it limited what I could use the box for so I ended up taking it off and giving it to a friend because no one wanted to buy it.

So what does Toyota do, they are apparently going to make it standard on some models, and add the cost to the vehicle for something most people do not really want, and will probably take off.

I think there will be a few for sale from mid 2016 onward.
