I had recently purchased a 06 tacoma and everything looks good, all the fuses, the heat works, and the air blows and all the settings work, but the ac or recirculation light doesn't turn on. I grabbed a meter and tested the connector to the climate control and it's not reading any volts. Only 1 wire on the connector picks up anything. Is there anything else to check for?

Connector A16 Pin 10 (Pink) should be Ignition Power to the HVAC Controls.
It comes from the IG1 Fuse (10A) in the Interior Fuse Box.

First check the IG1 Fuse, make sure it's good and has power on both sides with the key on.

If it's good then check the terminal at the HVAC controls.

If you have nothing at the HVAC Controls then check Connector PF Pin 14 (Pink) at the JB No2 behind the glovebox.

I tried my best to get a picture of it, but it's the module on the right with the harness one of above the bottom one that isn't receiving power, i believe that has most of the wires that go to the wiring harness for the climate control but receives no power

Hard to tell for sure but that looks like the PCM not the A/C Amplifier.

Did you ever figure it out? I just put a new (used) engine in my 2005 after the head gaskets went at 250k. When I turned on the truck for the first time the climate controls worked. The second time I turned on the truck they don't, nothing at all when you turn any climate knob.

I checked the IG1 fuse and every other fuse. My relays look like they are in good condition. My PF wire 14 looks fine, how do I test this? I don't know much to anything about electricity.

How do I test the terminal at the HVAC controls? Does this mean removing the dash and getting access to the control knobs?
