This is fairly hard to believe!

Attached is a pic of the ARB fitment guide for their Toy snorkels. ALL V6!

I even checked out the website in the fine print,
    https://safari4x4.com.au/

No help. And they're supposed to be so steeped in history of 4x4 products? Wake up, over there. And smell the fuel. Toy trucks were ONLY 4 cyl, once upon a time. Man I LOVE my 2TR-FE motor. With the manual trans. LOVE it.

I guess I will have to choose a different brand. But recommendations here say the Safari is best. Hmmmmph!

I mean, hopefully I'll never NEED a snorkel. But with all the flood events happening ever more frequently, I figured, might not be a bad idea. I'm not considering one cause I do a ton of caravan trips over miles & miles of dirt and dusty roads.

    That's not why.

I know I helped a friend put one on his 2004(I think)it wasn’t made for his year but it worked. He had the same issue none made for his truck. I know it was definitely a 4 banger

    edit: His was an 06

Isn't the fender orifice in same location as 6 cylinder?

Look up the cowl vent snorkel mod. It’s a cheap DIY that isn’t gonna leave you with an irreparable hole in the body that will likely rust over time.

Unless the goal is to stand out at the mall. I’m pretty sure you will damage your core electrical components in a lot of cases prior to getting the factory airbox submerged.

Bro boiii fender snorkels can inhale a lot of water/dust during inclement weather too.

And you’re not gonna gain any power. Try cleaning the throttle body/maf, adding a high quality air filter, and removing the built in charcoal prefilter in the airbox before dropping $300+ and cutting a gnarly hole in the body that you can’t undo.

And yes, the inner fender pass through is in the same place for the 4L and 2.7

So now we’ve “invested” $500-600 not including paint for the new fender.

Pretty sure Dobinsons confirmed that their snorkel works on the 4 cylinder as well on their site.

    Warning: major buzzkill ahead:

Just don't drive through water higher than your tires. Your alternator, starter, carpet, and much more will thank you.

In a flood, you shouldn't be driving through any water, as you don't know what's displaced under the surface, or how deep or swiftly moving the water is. This is how people get stranded or die.

Bonus: snorkels aren't even for water; they're for dust. Originally called "desert intakes", these are supposed to help you pull some clean air from higher up, instead of sucking the trail dust kicked up from the car in front of you on a dry, dusty road.

You are incorrect the stock one Toyota put on some that was just a desert intake not for water fjording, the arb one or similar are actual snorkels and you can use it for water fjording
