It happened again today. Seems like shutting my phone off and then plug it back in fixes it but it’s pretty irritating.

Happens to me too. I uses to unplug it and plug it back in but I realized I have to go to the audio setting through dash (not radio) using steering controls and unmute audio. No idea why/how it gets muted as I have yet to find a mute button but it’s worked for me doing that.

Regarding the issue with the phone calls, haven’t found a solution. It’s extremely infuriating. It’s only the Apple CarPlay that does this. Bluetooth works perfectly with calls when I unplug phone from CarPlay during same call.

I believe there’s a mute button on steering wheel

Are you using a genuine iPhone cable or aftermarket? With mine, if I use an aftermarket cable it connects and disconnects continuously. If I use my cable that came with the phone I have zero problems.

I'm sure you all know this but If you pull down on the top right the phone the top right box will show what it's hooked to. If you hit the blue circle you can change it.

so after reading your post I got in my truck to head off to work and audio froze up just after plugging in, so I pressed Mode/ hold button on the steering wheel and it works so for some strange reason it randomly mutes itself! I asked my dealer if they knew anything about it as i had to drop off my truck this morning for a different reason, and no they didn’t know that

For some reason I was thinking pause/play button on steering wheel. I knew the mute was there but also never used it and never thought about holding that down instead of going into settings and doing it the long way lol. Thank you for this!

Make sure your volume is turned UP. The volume control for maps/phone is separate from music, so you will still hear your maps/phone even when your music volume is on 0.

The next thing to try is going into Setup, then General, then Projection Settings. Here you can turn Apple CarPlay On/Off. Disconnect your phone, then turn Apple CarPlay Off. Turn it back on and reconnect your phone.

    Hope this helps!

I always play music via bluetooth connection but i notice that if i plug in the cable for instance, if the battery is getting low, the system can get confused on how to route the audio, i have disconnect the bluetooth connection from my phone to the headunit otherwise it won't play.

Oops. Forgot I had this. Turns out I experience a lot of frustrating quirks with the infotainment thing. I think it’s my phone though. I drop this thing a lot.
Thanks for all the help guys.
