    3.4 swap
Swapped an engine from a 1999 Tacoma into my 1985 4Runner. All good for over a year. 2days ago, I had an extended crank, not anything major, but it made me say"huh". About 2 hours later it was dramatically worse and wouldn't fire until I turned key off then tried again. Yesterday, It didn't start. I ran through procedures to test for fuel, yup. I was by myself and couldn't check for spark. Even though I had fuel, I tapped on the fuel tank in the pump location with the key on and it fired right up. Fuel pump, right???
Swapped fuel pump and tried it ....no start. Now Im at a friends house and we find it has no spark, put the little bulb in the injector plug and no injector pulse. Hook a code reader to it, can't communicate!. Turn key off and back on, no check engine light is illuminated when it has been on solid since I swapped for an evaporations code.
I checked cpu for power and grounds and it looks to have all necessary power and grounds....
    any experience with this issue?
One note: It has been raining like mad here for the last 2 weeks.

Likely you have a short or grounding issue. Sounds electrical by what you’re describing.

if the pins that are supposed to have +12v and the pins that are supposed to be grounded have ground then the PCM is dead. Take a screwdriver and rap on it and see if she comes back to life, if not take it out and see if you can torque the PCM with your hands and reinstall it. If that doesnt do anything take the cover off... Ill bet water got into it.
