Your truck has an igniter as well.

I would be checking all fuses, usually when both fuel and spark are gone it's a circuit that is disrupted.

The distributor, igniter and the injectors all share a common power wire, black with red stripe. I'm guessing its 5v but it could be 12v. Make sure Black with red has power.

You have no Spark and No Fuel yet you have no codes tripped .

At least a random misfire code .

Not liking the new parts for some reason.

Timing off would look like no spark

bad crank sensor would shut off the fuel .

    The no codes is troubling

OK at least the PCM is powered up. Not trying to be be funny but "new" stands for never ever worked. You could have just received broken parts. It is was me the first thing I would check is - is the distributor shaft turning when you crank the motor. Then with the wiring diagrams provided I would check the relevant fuses and grounds. There are 3 ground points on the 4 cyl model. One is in the left kick panel, one is on the D/S fender and the other is near the throttle body. Give each individual wire a wiggle. it could be broken internally. If your truck has a tach does it wiggle during cranking? This is usually an indicator of if the crank position sensor is OK. There should be a ground off of the back of the head to the firewall too.

You won't get fuel without spark. The computer will not fire the injectors. So I would check that you have proper voltage at the distributor connector. On the 96 the camshaft position sensor is inside the distributor, so you need power for both that and spark.

It looks like maybe AM2 fuse supplies the power to the distributor, so check that too.
