Would that lead to the other electrical issues if the box is malfunctioning? I have a video of the relay going haywire as well but I have to attach a Imgur link because the forum will not let me attach the video straight from my photo library.

This is a short video of the relay sounds that sometimes happen after turning the key on and attempting to make something electrical work. In this case it was when I tried to turn the headlights on with the key in the first position.

The thieves know the dealer alarms inside/out .....just have to monkey around the ignition wires and pull the siren feed...

however.......someone made this one almost theft proof

risky if that system goes bad and backfeeds 12v back into the ecm ground

if its a manual .....that can be a $1000 fix

Around $26,000 worth of unleaded in the fuel tank.
That ignition cut alone would just cause a crank but no start situation. If you have a no crank situation, you can search for no crank, no start on here.

You need to verify good battery voltage, good terminal connections (I have seen black terminals that do not carry enough load for engine starting.) The large battery cables at the terminals can be rotten inside and still look ok and measure ok but not carry the load needed for cranking.

Is the sound from your video happening just by turning the key on, or is it during engine crank attempt?

That doesn't sound like the alarm brain clicking

That repeated clicking sounds just like a starter when you try and crank an engine woth low battery voltage, but it seems to be coming from the wrong area.

That happens almost every time after and something during the key being in the ignition and me attempting to do anything that requires electricity. I have verified 12.8 volts at the battery posts. Haven’t checked the actual battery cables themselves so I will have to do that after work tomorrow. Nothing electrical in the truck turns on except the door chime.

Right, that is why I initially replaced the starter relay under the hood. I think I found the source of the clicking. It appears to be coming from a bank of approximately 4-5 relays in the footwell. I will see if I can nail it down tomorrow afternoon.

The clicking relay might not be faulty, but just be cycling due to lack of power. This would mean power is not adequate due to something else.
Rotten battery cables can show good voltage but not carry enough load when current is drawn (not super likely but this one has been a fun one to find in the past).

A battery analyzer is a good tool to have, I use them all the time. Here is an example. This one will test charging and starting also.

Thanks for the link, at that price I’ll probably get one just to have in my tool box. I’ll check cables tomorrow and update.

I got my Konwei for like $18 a couple of years ago and use it all the time. They are way better than the analog testers of yesteryear.

If it saves you from needlessly replacing a whole battery just once, its worth it

That could be the case, but I didn't buy one on Amazon plus it was years ago.

Yeah but the last one played with crayons, took naps and ate tapioca pudding all day and I'm sure in his mental state could not even use the simple battery analyzer.
