My 2015 Tacoma would not start randomly. I swapped the start relay with another in the fuse box and still did not start .I pulled the start relay and put a jumper from battery + to the relay socket going to the starter and it turned over. Problem went away for a few weeks , now I always have a jumper in the truck but I would like to fix the issue. Any ideas ??

I was not very clear, The jumper stays in t.he glove box in case of a no start. The problem is intermittent and I was hoping you guys with more experience come up with a "oh yeah this happened to me and this is the test and fix. :)

It's not that easy. But a good guess would that the issues is in the Neutral Safety Switch circuit.
Can you start the truck in Neutral when this happens?

The Safety switch has know to get water inside the connection and cause issues.
It's not too common, but it happens enough that it is a known issue.

    It's an easy check.

I did try to start it in neutral but had no luck. It still may be the neutral switch or harness but with an intermittent problem it is difficult to reproduce. I do appreciate knowing it is a known issue as it gives me a heads up for next time.

Other than the Transmission Range Switch and connector as @TnShooter mentioned there's not really anything common.
There's not much to the starting circuit, Ignition Switch, STA Fuse, STA Relay, Transmission Range Switch/Clutch Switch, wiring, and the starter.

Intermittents are always challenging to diagnose but if you can get it to act up get you a test light and start checking where your losing your power, I posted the diagram and link to troubleshooting above.

Guys, Thanks for all your helpful suggestions and the wiring diagram. Now its a waiting game for the next "no crank" incident. Last time it was in the driveway so tools were available. Next time I will be better prepared thanks to the info you guys shared.
