Ah. I gotcha. Well, I come in peace haha. I think the bumper OP just posted is the most viable option that has come up yet.
Have you contacted any fabrication shops to see if they will make a bumper for you? A tube rear bumper that that one would have a nice step on the side.

Not yet might look into something like that. Don't know of any good fabrication shops in my area. I live in the bay area, CA.

What part of the bay area? I used to live in Los Gatos / San Jose.
@JLee (Bay Area Metal Fab aka BAMF) does amazing work.
Joey Schleef (Infamous Metal Works) as long as he isn't too wrapped up into his other business now.

Of all of the problems this truck has, this is more of a mild inconvenience that you absolutely knew about before you bought it. So, you made a poor choice if this was an important feature you needed.

With that said, I love the functionality of the GMC twins' step-up bumper. I'm surprised there aren't more after-market armor bumpers with this as a feature.

Only thing I miss about my '15 Colorado was the bumper corner steps.

Livermore. I would be willing to travel a long distance to find a solution.

Why did you switch? Did you have the diesel? (Or was that not an option for 15?)

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
Thanks but we don't have a production bumper and a custom one off would be in the thousands I'm not sure what the budget is but it would not be cheap.

Tailgates been around a long time, not usually a problem area for most people.

No diesel in the '15 and I would not want a diesel because I live in a apartment, (No way to plug it in during the winter) also I don't have a need for a diesel.

Did not like how the factory installed my vinyl flooring, (I had the it built without the Munchkin seats in the extended cab) cheap plastic handle for the seat back adjustments, poor paint job from the factory, steel cable with a dob of pot metal on the end for a dip stick, I could not reach in and feel check the serpentine belt on the V6, could see the gas door mechanism was going to cause problems in the future. And the thing is the same size as a full size truck only narrower. Biggest reason was my door seals leaked and I got tired of GM's customer care happy, sappy b.s. I took the truck to many dealerships to have it looked at but no one seemed to know how to correct the problem.

If Ford still made the Ranger or Dodge the Dakota I would of bought one of them. Tacoma was the smallest truck made in 2015.

You could always do what the rest of us do... sit on the tail gate... lift your legs up and swing them around till your feet are also on the tail gate .....roll over to your knees.. like in the bend over position..You probably can figure the rest of it out from there.

Now if you can't bend over... or you cant sit down .... or .... wait ... get your SO to climb in there.

    Problem solved...
