i live in the screwed up state of California....i ordered my plate online in August when I bought truck and paid $50.........tag name requested: " OKs Taco “ since my name is O. K.
After about three weeks i got a letter stating they refused my request and refunded my card for $50.......the reason they gave was it was “ sexually connotative, offensive and was disturbing.....I was pissed, so I wrote them a two page letted asking what about it was sexually connatative and how was it offensive...Gave them info about this site and that everyone refers to their truck as “my taco”....I really blasted them and told them how stupid and ignorant they were.......I forgot about it but in January, I got another letter saying they had reviewed my letter and have approved my plate name “OKs Taco”.......they sent envelope with coupon and asked I mail it to the person named on the envelope with $50....i did and within 2 weeks got the plate!!!

 

Took me a lot longer. Took google a lot less.

I’m in Tennessee and I put in for “MY TACO” and that one was already taken but I got my second option “CXC TACO” which is the initial of my first, middle, and last name.
Vanity plates are really popular in California but are rare here. Feels like I’m the only one it town with a custom plate.

I just got my letter today that because my plate had taco in it it is “offensive to good taste and decency”.

What a joke, make you wait 9 weeks to tell you to pound sand then have to wait 60-90 days for a refund.

Op where did you send your appeal letter? At this time I will just replace taco with yota as it fits better anyway, but I still want to let them know how silly it is. They know I am getting the plate for a tacoma, I am literally taking 2 letters off the name of the truck.
