Nothing on the display, no picture of truck with tire pressures indicated, no problems replacing tires with AT tires.
I bought a base model, is it possible that TPMS is not a feature on the base model? Went through my manual and there is nothing in it about TPMS.

Which frankly I would love as I want new wheels.

I thought all new cars had to have it but I could be wrong. Just change the rims doesn't matter either way.

It has TPMS. Just not the fancy set up the higher trims have. Yours simply just have a light that comes on if a tire goes low.

It does, I'm one of those people that goes nuts if a warning light is blinking even if I know it means nothing, and tape doesn't keep me from knowing.
Another reason I want to know is the local dealership here told me I would need all new sensors when I went to purchase wheels from them, and of course a charge for programming on top of that.

Correct. It’s a requirement after the Ford Explorer fiasco.

OP there are different sensors for steel and alloy wheels.

Try a tire shop and ask if they can be swapped onto the new rims. Maybe cheaper just to have new sensors at an independent shop. Most major tire places can program them. In my area town fair tire is the big one but they will only install new ones.

You don't have to do that. You can get aftermarket sensors and clone them to your old ones so the truck won't know the difference.

If you have steel wheels and want to go alloy, you need new sensors for the new wheels and then have them programmed. Go to a tire shop. The dealer is gonna want big money to do it.

Yes I'm aware, but if you have TPMS isn't there a display on the MIC (console)? There is no display for this truck, there is nothing in the manual about TPMS, and the toyota site doesn't tell me anything either.

Then if I let some air out it should pop a warning light?

OK thanks people, I think I can see where they would put the TPMS in but the firmware doesn't give the pretty display of your tire pressures, it just lights up a light on your dash.

TPMS will show up on the instrument display (between speedo and tach.) Some models of SR trim do not have this display, therefore the TPMS would be warning light only in those.

Go for a quick drive to wake up the sensors. Come back and drop one tire down to 15psi. Check the dash. Air back up

Yep, it should come on if the truck was equipped. I believe the air pressure has to drops below 25 percent of the recommended manufacturer number located on your vehicle's door placard to get the the system triggers the warning light.

OP a little background on TPMS.

“The TREAD (Transportation Recall Enhancement, Accountability and Documentation) Act was signed into United States Federal Law in the fall of 2000 and requires all vehicles manufactured on or after September 1, 2007 to be equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system.”

This all came about after the Ford/Firestone fiasco.

With the SR (at least with my 2021) you can get the readout of individual tire pressures in the Toyota app, but only if you pay for their service subscription thing. It was active for mine during the free trial after buying the truck and it's been an absent feature since the trial expired.

It's been a requirement in the US since 2005, starting with all 2008 model year passenger vehicles.

I have heard that it is not a requirement in vehicles sold in Canada, surprisingly. The country that requires a warning if you are out of windshield fluid does not have regulations on tire pressures.

I have them on my Sport and hate them cause everytime one tire is lower than the other light comes on. I men 2 psi less is not a warning but a pain in the ass. I reset the TPMS and it goes away. I notice it more as the cold weather comes. I have 30 during the summer they go up to 36-38. This cold weather they down at 26-27 just confusing. just saying.
