No wheel key

    I was in a similar situation a few years back on a truck I had purchased. The last owner had no idea where the key was. The manufacturer informed the key pattern was no longer made. No tire shop would touch it, 1 told me to cut my wheel in half with a plasma cutter...yeah, no.

    My solution was an air hammer. I cut a minor groove in the edge of the nut with the hammer and then worked it loose, also with the hammer. It took about 90 seconds per nut.

    I had a GTI with lovking lugs I lost the key to. Went to VW to get a replacement and they had discontinued it ao there was no way to get one.

    Looks like a standard lock macguard style. Any shop should be able to pop them off. Or pound a socket on there and do it yourself.

    Tried the socket idea last night...gave up.

    Have called the dealer....they have the master set and can order me a new one for $25.
