noise coming from bed area of my 2019 tacoma

There was no way to list this and not get some smart remarks, but here I go. Several hours after returning from a brief trip, say 20 miles, I parked my truck in the garage and and when I went to get in the truck again maybe 4 hours later I heard a humming sound coming from the bed end of the truck. I couldn't figure out the exact location, but it was definitely at the rear of the truck. I started the engine and then shut it down. I got out and went to the bed area and the sound was gone. I am concerned that the fuel pump was running that whole time. Has anyone experienced this? Thanks FJ40 man.

 

fuel pump. Have you had yours replaced yet? I'm getting mine replaced next Thursday

 

It is a normal thing. It is the evap pump on the gas tank I believe. Google it, and you’ll see a million posts about this exact issue

They actually list is in the manual for the system doing an evaporation.

And yes for the smart remark if that’s the sound coming from your bed you’re probably doing it right because it’s sort of a Slurpee gurgling noise

 

Normal. Not the fuel pump. It's the evap pump doing a pressure test.

I noticed mine does it occasionally when its hot out, I just cracked the gas cap open real quick and it stops immediately.
