Just purchased a 2015 Tacoma 4.0 and I am at 900 miles on it. When the truck sits over night or at least eight hours and you start up, after about one minute a mechanical noise (grinding?) starts coming from the front of the engine, say the water pump area. You can hear it from several feet away from the truck. After about ten minutes the noise slowly goes away. Took it to Toyota and they replaced the belt tensioner Noise is still there. ???

Have you checked the headlight fluid?

Noise is synonymous with this engine. Don't worry, be happy. When it won't start then you got problems.

900 miles on a 2015...if you're concerned, take it to the dealer for a proper diagnostic.

Apparently the dealership thought it was a problem or they wouldn’t have changed your tensioner. Take it back and tell them to fix your brand new truck.

Yeah no kidding, usually the Dealer says they can't replicate the problems so its normal.

Mine makes a winding down noise (similar to that of a RC car motor) each time I shut off the engine. I'm sure it's normal and I kinda like it.
