Noise from rear end, sounds like loose change

As the title reads. Whenever I changed lanes and went over the reflectors I would hear a noise from the back end, no other way to describe other than loose change or a handful of washers. I checked the bell on the spare tire hoist, it is tight but the bell is loose and when I jiggle it it doesn't make the same noise. I have checked everything I can think off, no loose bolts from what I could reach. I needed new tires and put on a mud terrain tire last week (coming from an all terrain) and now I can hear the noise at low speeds; under 10mph. Once I'm over 10mph I don't hear it anymore unless I hit a road reflector or some other small bump. Figured I'd ask in here for thoughts before I brought it in to a shop to have it looked at.

 

Some body left pocket change inside those tires lol

 

Is that a new thing with tires cause my old tires did it too...man, I could have been a few cents richer and put it toward the shop raping if I have to have them look at it.....

 

Have you had your frame or leaf springs replaced?
The reason I ask is when I had my frame replaced along with the leafs the dealership forgot to attach the e-brake cable bracket to the leaf springs and it rattled going over bumps....

Sometimes the gas cap door will rattle on my truck.

 

It is the spare tire drop chain.

 

Sounds the noise happened/happening after the tire switch?
Before the muds no noises right?

 

I checked it and its pulled tight.

 

It happened with the all terrains too, just more noticeable with the muds since they make the truck vibrate more at low speeds

 

Do you have some shit in the storage areas in the back maybe?

 

Maybe a passenger dropped some change in the back seat and has made its way under the carpet.

Nothing in the storage areas in the bed and nothing under the carpet. The noise can't be heard in the cab with the windows up. I'm gonna try and spend more time underneath the bed this weekend and just touch whatever I can.

I would double check the spare tire chain. I've never needed to lower mine so I don't know exactly how it is designed, but when the wheel is up all the way and snug in place, it seems like the loose slack on the chain has to go somewhere?

 

I'll give it another look over. Hooking that tool into the spare receiver is such a bitch though! lol
