i have a new noise... When I put the truck into reverse and turn left, as the truck starts to go back, there is a loud bang type of noise. It is felt in the floor and steering wheel. If I turn the wheel as I'm in reverse, it will happen as the steering gets close to the bump stop, but does not need to be at the stop. If it is a mild turn it does not happen. If I put the truck into reverse, turn all the way to the bump stop, there is no noise until I start to go back, but then it is immediate.

I left it at a local aftermarket shop yesterday. All day. It happens every single time so it is very easy to duplicate, but they said when they put it into the air, they could not identify it.

This says to me that the noise only happens when the truck is on the ground.

At a standstill, I can crank the steering all the way left and right and no noise. Reverse and turning right, no noise. Forward and turning at any speed, no noise.

The easiest way to duplicate is in a parking lot. When you back out from between two cars you are straight, then start to cut the wheel as you are backing up and when the steering reaches a certain point *bang* and only when backing up to the left.

Any ideas? It's gotta be rt front suspension or axle but I was told there are no signs of wear and no damage and nothing loose. Where do I start?

    Crawl underneath and start looking.....

When you hear the bang, immediately STOP the vehicle....get out and look. It might some something as simply as your wheels hitting something underneath.

On a more extreme scale...I'm thinking... Check you CV joints.

Wheels hitting nothing. Cv joint was my thought, or possibly spring/strut mount. Something that would make noise when certain stresses from turning and pulling occur- only when turned left and moving in reverse.

Look at the upper and lower control arm bushings...
