    I have a 09 DBL Cab Sport with 130k on it. Fox 2.5 suspension and 33" Nittos. Replaced wheel bearings around 75k and CV's around the same time and a needle bearing once years ago. About 2 weeks ago noticed a noise that speeds up with car speed and is only constant when turning to the right. Its not a typical growl of a bearing...more tinny sounding like a coke can in a bike spoke. Assumed it was a bearing so I replaced the passenger side wheel bearing (went with Jersey Built in spite of all the negative and had no issues getting the part). Passenger side CV has some play but not bad. Drivers side bearing and CV sound and feel fine. U joints have some grease spray so thinking of replacing those. Any other ideas?

    Edit to add that no change from 2 to 4H

    So this is now a full on shit show. Decided to do the U joints. Watched all the videos, got all the parts and tools from O'reillys. Pressing in the joint at the yoke flange and didn't realize a needle had fallen. Commence to cranking the press and hear a snap and see the opposite clip had shot out and taken enough of the flange with it that a clip won't retain. Now have to wait on a new flange yoke from Northern Drive Train. All for some annoying noise...

    Ordered a new flange from Northern Drivetrain. Should be here tomorrow. Gives me a day to be productive around the house

    My recommendations are as follows;

    1) Don't buy and replace parts until you actually figure out what part is causing problems.
    2) Sounds like you probably should find someone to give you a hand with this job.

    Yes to the first and no to the second. Flange arrived today and it’s a match. Tomorrow I’ll get the driveshaft put back together tomorrow

    Final update:got everything back together yesterday. Took it out for a spin and the noise was way louder. Back in the garage and climb under it. Finally notice the gas tank heat shield is bent out. I bent it back into place and go back out driving. No noises at all. No vibrations up to 60. Long story short: I’m stupid and don’t just start swapping parts until you really see what’s wrong

    Good lesson.... sadly, it’s easier said than done trying to be patient with our trucks. We all want to “fix” something if there’s a problem

    Always suspect a heat shield or other type of sheet metal part first when you hear “tinny” things...
    Congrats on the fix, new u-joints, yoke & bearing. Should be all set for awhile with those parts.

    You might want to consider adding “Solved” to your thread title. Helps others with searching for similar issues.
