    I have a 2001 Tacoma 4 cyl. auto it has started making a noise under the dash in front of the shifter console sounds like an air compressor, runs about a min. then quits . has any one else had this problem and what was it? thank you

    I think I'm having that same problem. Sounds like little spurts of air followed by a small rattling noise? I haven't found a solution, but I've narrowed it down to the temperature dial (leave it on the coolest and the noise goes away. Turn the temp dial up, the noise comes back)... weird
