I have a 2009 Tacoma 4x4 with 65,000 miles on it. Just recently it has started to sound like I have mud tires on it. The tires I have are the originals and getting new ones shortly. It runs and handles like it's new. The only problem is the noise. Could it be something more then just the tires?

My guess is that the wear bars on your bald tires are making noise. wear bars are the raised areas that go all the way across the width of the tire. Low tread exposes them to the road and they make noise. They're supposed to keep bothering you until you to go out and buy new tires. ;)

Thanks...I looked at the tires and didn't see the wear bars but I'm hoping that's what it is.
