Badgers, I don't need no stinking Badgers.
Did you run it around the whole door no gaps like I did, or only a little like the other guy?

I started my drip line just above the latch and ran it around the top to the front corner of the window.

I've been dealing with this on my 2012 as well. It's so annoying. Between the door seals and the leather around my gear shifter it drives me nuts!

Bringing this back to the top for the benefit of anyone else fighting this....and to thank Aw9d for the drip line idea.

This has been driving me crazy since the day I brought my truck home from the dealer. I've never had the dealer look at it, since in my experience, they all suck at trying to fix squeaks / rattles.

I tried every product you can think of on the door seals to quiet the noise, with very little success. Some would make it a little quieter, but only for a very short time. Others (like silicone spray) actually made it worse. I even bought "Gummi Pfledge" rubber care, after reading about how it's worked on some other cars with this issue (like BMWs). It did nothing.

I did the drip line the other day, as described by Aw9D. I did both doors, from around the door striker all the way to about where the wire loom is at the front of the door. I couldn't do that all in one piece, so there are 3 sections in each door.

Drove the truck for 3 hours yesterday, and not a sound out of the door seals.

Now that this is finally fixed, I placed my RAAMmat order last night. I didn't want to start doing the sound deadening until I fixed the door seal noise. I figured that if I made the truck quieter, the door seals would just be that much more annoying.

Don't want to be discouraging, but the drip line was a very temporary fix for me as I stated above. My doors were silent when I first installed the drip line, but then began to make noise again. I then installed a second piece of drip line in the seal along with the first. It was a tight fit, but it worked. Again, my doors were silent for about a month or so, but are now as noisy as ever. I just rewaxed all of the metal contact surfaces and siliconed the seals again, but it only helped a little. Toyota really needs to change the material that they are using on these seals. My 2005 Tacoma never had this issue.

Baby powder on the seals solved this issue for me.

The mechanic at my dealer adjusted my doors and the sound is completely gone. I have a 2013 DCLB. I'm assigned to the same mechanic every time my Tacoma goes in for service, so he knows my truck. The person that runs the dealership really knows how to run it.

Have no clue. All they told me was the doors were out of adjustment and the mechanic adjusted them and the sound is no longer there and that was last Dec. Inside my cab my truck sounds like a Toyota should sound . No rattles or squeaks. Very tight.

I tried moving the striker on mine. It seemed like the top would move slightly, but the bottom would not budge.

I have adjusted doors on many other vehicles by moving the striker plate. The striker plates on my '13 Tacoma are not adjustable. I have no idea how the dealer would have adjusted the doors, unless someone knows something that I don't.

Here is my Dealers name: New Holland Toyota, New Holland , Pa. You can call there service dept. and ask. Maybe he did something else and the person out front just said he adjusted the doors. All I know is that the sound is gone and it has never returned. That is all I'm worried about.

Do you have the service technician's name? I called to ask them about the door adjustment and the guy in the service dept said he didn't know anything about it or never had that issue brought up (like they always say). He said there are TWO service departments, so he wasn't sure who did it. If you could provide the guy's name then I can just ask for him and report back. Thanks.

Just checked my work order and it says he adjusted the weather strip. Don't know the mechanics name. It's a big dealership. I thought they did it last year, but it was done in Feb of 2014. The person out front said he adjusted the door, so that is what I thought they did. So it was the weather strip they adjusted.
