New 2016 Tacoma Sport - when accelerating sounds like a diesel in the cab, back off and noise gone. Anyone have the same problem or suggestions?

Umm. Is this during a test drive? Or do you own it? If so how long have you had it and has it always done this or is it a new sound?

The 3.5L really likes to rev to make power, so it'll make some noise. Of course, I like the noise so it doesn't bother me, plus I've amplified it with a cat-back exhaust. But I don't remember it being too bad stock. I mean, the engine at idle with the hood up kind of sounds like a sewing machine, but hey.

Normal. Characteristic of DOHC directly injected engine with a mechanical fan

The truck has a very tick tick tick dieselesque sound to it. It's the high pressure injectors

Yes, it's normal, you're hearing the direct injection fuel pump.

Thanks for the input, now I won't make an ass of myself with the dealer. Had a 2013, but never noticed that noise before, I'll get use to it. Love the truck, have had since last Friday.
