I don't own Wildpeaks, but they seem to have more sipes on the tires than those Nokians. Those extra sipes help a lot more in the rain & snow. (Which is surprising for a Nokian???)

I'm a Duratracs fan as they fit my needs. Most aggressive A/T, best rain rating & 3 peak snow designation. Nice to see the Wilpeaks & Nokians have the 3 peaks desi too!

Yeah. I wanted to put the Duratracs on my list, but I've heard the noise complaints and heard them on a friend's Trail Boss.

Sipes, compounds, other factors. Who knows? The WPs did drop off in wet traction toward the end. But, that is not unexpected.

It's true they are, due to the aggressive thread design. They are definitely less of a Highway Tire, and closer to a M/T. Thankfully they fit my needs as I don't do much Highway driving.

I used to think that very laterally shaped blocks or openness of the pattern determined road noise, but it is weirdly different than that. It sort of makes sense as I have heard loud (some very loud) car tires.

Here's a good vid that explains it:

The Nokian Rotiiva AT looks like more of an all season AT. They have a ton of siping, and are pretty lightweight.

So, I recently got the LT265/70/R16 for my '14 TRD Off Road double cab. A couple of observations. handling on damp/wet roads was just fine, but having said that, I don't tend to launch from a standstill and drive more conservatively in wet conditions. Second observation is that my fuel economy on a long highway trip was same as with stock Goodyear Wrangler Adventure non-LT tires, so I was very happy with that. Running at 40psi all around. Love how these tires handle.

I generally drive about the same in the wet. Certainly more conservative around other folks, but an empty road or corner makes me turn up the volume a bit.

FYI incase anyone's interested, just got my LT275/70/r17 Outposts (E-rated) and they weigh 50.4 lbs each. I'll post some more pics up when I get them mounted on my 4tr Pro wheels.

    Nothing. Just got it.
Anybody run these in a 2857516? Lightest 10ply e rated tire I could find in that size. I like how they look, and by the sounds of it good performance. Planning on throwing these on in the next few years when I switch to the bigger size. My 2657516s weigh 50lbs, its a no-brainer!

I'm not sure how the actual weight of that size matches up to reality. My 265/70R17s were supposed to weigh 31lb and actually weighed an average of 44lb.

If they are over 10lbs heavier than advertised, that’s a pretty severe misrepresentation of their product. A lot of people select tires based on weight.

Just got my Outposts in 275/70r17 mounted up yesterday. They ride incredibly smooth compared to the stock Wranglers and they hook up nicely in the snow. If anyone's concerned about going with the E-rated ones, don't be. They feel great and aren't harsh at all. I'll snap some better pics when the weather clears up.

    Specs:
    • Factory TRD lift (just the shocks and struts)
    • Headstrong 3-leaf AAL with their .5" block added as well
    • AGP 4TR Pro wheels (17x8 et+5)
    • Nokian Outpost A/T 275/70r17
    • TufSkinz mud flaps (no rubbing)
    Cheers!

So when you’re contemplating not buying these tires because they are made in Russia take a moment and think of everything you own that is made in China. Same evil different face.

I just got these in e rated 275/70r17. I haven’t had time to put many miles in them, but so far I like them. I was coming from c rated 285/70r17 KO2s.

I have only driven on the street so far, but they ride just as nice as the c rated KO2, meaning not as harsh as some other e rated tires. They also seem to coast better and lose momentum less. Acceleration is a bit better.

They do feel a little more squirrly at highway speed. I have not noticed that they’re less noisy, but I don’t have a good ear for that. My truck’s diff drowns out the tires anyway.

I’ve noticed that highway speed squirrellyness. It honestly might just be our shitty Colorado roads, though.

I think it’s that they have, iirc, 18/16 tread depth. That’s pretty deep. They should break in a bit over time.
