I just ordered a set of LT265/75R16 E from simple tire. They are replacing Pirelli's that I have liked, but getting only about 45K miles out of them. Should have them mounted in a couple of weeks. Very interested to see how they do this winter.

I got the above tires installed yesterday. I have about 50 highway miles on them. They seem very quiet. They were made in Russia. Nothing else to report at this point.

How have they performed so far? I’m looking to get something that will do well in snow/rain/off road.

mom between these, Falken AT3w and the New cooper Road+Trail AT

For me, I miss the Wildpeaks. Hell, with only 20k on these, my wife is asking me to get somethings and she doesn't even drive the Taco.

They're good off road, aired down, and in the dry, but wet handling is frustrating. While fun to slip around at pedestrian speeds, they do worry me, esp with wear. The 80% wear indication is just now disappearing on three of the tires.

The only caveat is that these might only be a problem for me being just one data point.

I need to check prices on WPs and Rugged Treks.

I'm running them. Very happy so far.

I'm out. The wet traction issue was just getting silly. Still confused as wet braking was never an issue. Acceleration and cornering are crappy. Went with Rugged Treks XL load rating. The purchase hurts, but the complaints from the passenger seat made it happen.

Well, thank you for sharing your personal experiences with these tires. It's too bad these tires are not working well in the wet since I was hoping the Outpost AT would be a four season tire. Hope the RTs work out for you.

    You're welcome!

I've been wanting to try Nokians for a long time due to their killer bad weather reputation. Not sure whats up with these unfortunately. I know folks swear by them.

I haven't had the same experiences as you. Not quite 1500 miles on mine. We have had a couple of intense rain storms since I had mine installed. I haven't noticed any slipping, sliding, or hydroplaning. Maybe time will tell. I previously had Pirelli Scorpion AT Plus, which I thought were exceptionally good on wet roads. So far, the Nokians seem to match the Pirellis. I bought mine in anticipation on Maine winters. Hopefully will do well in the snow with the reputation you alluded to.

This did not happen when new. They were super soft until there were some heat cycles on them. I could move around entire tread blocks with my fingers and could hear them squirm in corners for about 1k or so. Then the wet traction went away and has gotten worse. I have 20k on them now and would say the wet traction issue became apparent around 5k.

The 80% indicator has just worn off. So, they were set for roughly 80k to 100k of life.

Outpost AT is an excellent all-weather tire. Running them on our old Disco 2. Made it through the hot summer without any noticeable degradation due to heat. They performed well last winter and I expect them to do the same this year.
We have the previous model Nokian AT called the Rotiiva on our 100 Series. Hard to say which is the better all-rounder, but the Rotiivas have been good for at least 3+ years.

Also have Outposts on the FJ60, but that only gets driven on nice days.

We've been running Nokians for twenty years. Including the WRG, WRG2, a few Hakka models. Love them.

Hopefully it wss just a one off thing with my set, but unfortunately, I won't be trying this brand in the future.

It was shocking to hear my wife tell me to get rid of them. LoL!

Recently bought a set of Outpost nAT in 265/70/17 (before anyone asks, no they do not rub at all). I wanted the best performing AT Tire for the winter as we live in Yellowknife, Canada, but are also planning to go on road trips to the south of the US in the winter. It seemed like the best option to safely drive out of Canada in treacherous icy conditions in the winter and still hit some trails in Arizona or Utah without having to swap tires.

Are they as good as Hakkapeliittas on ice, absolutely not, but I think it is a good compromise for our use case. I have felt very safe driving on some ice roads in 4wd and the deep snow performance has been great.

I made the switch from KO2’s to the nAT and really like them so far. A lot better traction in snow and ice. My dad was running the AT for the past 3 years on a Tundra and had nothing but awesome things to say.

I am looking hard at these for 4thgen Offroad 6MT. Owned several Nokian Hakka winters. Had 2008 Tundra for last 8yrs, first Tacoma. Stuck on size choice as I've never been a pizza cutters owner but I've watched and read plenty of the inherent benefits.
    Stock size is 265 70 17
    Choices true 32" 255 75 17 at 43lbs or 32.8" 285 70 17 46.3lbs
Sure love the look of 285's but I want to ue them as year round tire in Canada so pizza cutters may be the way. Also mpg likely improves with the 255.
    Thoughts?

I just wouldn't. I cannot speak to the nATs, but the ones that I had (ATs made in Russia) were crap with wear.

My advice is Cooper Rugged Treks. I can slide them around in rain and still have normal traction. The Nokian ATs were butt puckering after about 5,000mi.

Anything over 32in will require work regardless of lift if the tire gets stuffed. Full articulation doesn't care about tire size.

I appreciate that and actually I should have mentioned in my first post that we some experience with nATs on my wife's Forester they are noticeably better than the original ATs, which we actually had a warranty full replacement with the new nATs. They are her summer tires and Hakkapeliitta for winter. I'm hoping to tun them year round on the Tacoma.
I compared the 2 side by side and there are extra sipes in the nAT and Nokian told me the American plant adjusted the rubber compound recipe for the nAT.

33's fit on 2024 Tacomas without lift or rub as long as offset is considered.

Good stuff. It's a bummer that the originals were a waste for me.

    Good luck!
