Doesn't work due to the placement of the scoop and the aerodynamics a truck. The scoop location is actually a slight vacuum.

It's been talked about, and tried, lots. :)

Volant has a ram air kit that brings the air through the grill. Their kits are very nice. I have never had my engine light come on. My kit has been on for 20k miles.

Hmm, TW seems to think that is an invalid username. Link?
FYI: The hood scoop on the tacoma's is in a negative pressure zone. So it isn't possible to function as a ram air scoop. You can run ducting to it, but it isn't going to be particularly effective.

about as functionaly as the hole in your fender that your truck sucks air thru stock, i'm still gonna cut my scoop out so it's at least open, if it has a vacume effect at least it'll suck hot air out of the engine compartment
