No shade, I'm genuinely asking since 90% of posts seem to be about going off-road (no shade to them either, would love to get my truck off-road worthy of taking on Peacock Flats). Work? Hauling? Aesthetic? Height? My truck is a pavement princess herself but she's useful for scavenging random crap I find on the side of the road. I actually just picked up a cage that wouldn't have fit in my old Camry (or the Yaris I was thinking about getting) It also happens to be our state vehicle, so that's nice.

I do not offroad. Reasons I drive a truck are...

    - I drive in the snow a lot to go skiing and such in the winter
    - I tow trailers a lot in the summer between boat trailers and having a lawn business.
    - Not a fan of getting into/out of cars, or looking up at other vehicles on the road.
    - A truck just looks cooler.

Wanted to be able to haul my bike around. Also wanted to switch from turbos to a supercharger for different go fasty noises.

I would love to go offroading with my truck, but unfortunately I rarely get the chance to go. I bought a truck so I can tow my four wheeler and haul large things. I hate having to borrow anything, so I did not want to have to borrow someone's truck every time I need to move anything.

I'm restoring an old house and the truck bed gets put to use just about every weekend... landscaping stuff, home repair/improvement stuff, moving furniture, going to the dump, etc. Plus I have a bad boat habit so on those weekends when there's not home stuff going on there's a good chance you'll find a dingy, kayak, outboard, gas tanks or something else boat-related back there.

Nah, I only want 400 at the wheels; easy to get there with the blower. Turbos make some cool noises, but I've driven turbo cars for the last 7 years. I love the whine of the blower. And the extra torque is quite nice. The taco is also my first RWD vehicle in 10 years or so, so I've been putting that to good use.

Blowers are alright but can't touch a turbo. The small supercharger they use in these motors are pretty quiet. But they are simple to install and maintain. Turbo life is a constant battle. Lol.

Every man should own a truck! Whether you're a home owner or outdoor enthusiast. It offers the ability to haul toys, materials, people and for alot of us, dogs as well without them messing up the interior of your vehicle.

Mine is clearly a Mall Crawling Princess so it's all about aesthetics for me.

Any ideas on how to secure my pup back there? My idiot dog tried jumping once and would have choked while dangling off the side of the bed if I wasn't there. I love him to death but he has no sense of life preservation at all.

i wanted a reliable vehicle but wanted to keep my commuters - literally purchased my truck and it stays in storage.

I rarely move it - I took it on a camping trip on thanksgiving week. I had to go renew registration - Expired AUGUST.

Living in Texas, each household is required by law to have at least one truck. Living in the flat part of Texas, 4x4 is encouraged but not required. I don't intentionally go off-roading but some of the "roads" to my favorite watering holes are antagonizing to conventional forms of transportation.
